Reading the forums today I noticed much contention over the so-called 'anti-n00b' protest.
Most of it seems to be due to confusion over the meaning of the term 'n00b'
Here I shall attempt to explain
First, n00b(or noob) is not the same as newbie(or newb)

A newbie is a person new to a game/forum or what have you.
A n00b is a person who acts in an obnoxious manner, skirts or outright breaks conventions/rules and in general acts in an asshatish and/or anti-social manner.

Examples.
Joe Newbie creates a new account, he interacts with the SL world around him as any other newbie would, eventually learning enough to become your average resident and thus shedding his newbie status.

Bill n00b creates his 10th account(because his first 9 are banned) so that he can teleport to your land and shoot/bomb/cage you, scam your customers and otherwise be a nusance without fear of true reprisal because that 11th account is just as easy to make as the previous 10. He will never shed his n00b status because it is an intregal part of him and the manner in which he interacts via the online medium.

Hopefully this clarifies things a bit and helps avoid the instances of Poster A misunderstanding Poster B when s/he says 'n00bs are bad' or other similar statements.
