I've been having a problem with a squatter. Without permission he built a house in the sky above my land, which apparently was high enough to bypass the Restricted Access I put on the parcel but it still drains my prim/object allowance.
When I first discovered it I returned his building items to him and asked him not to do that again, as I noticed he was a newbie -- figured he didn't realize what he was doing was wrong. He asked if he could please rebuild it there again and I explained to him in a real friendly manner that me and my group needed the object space for our own stuff. He said he would find another place to go.
Now it's been a few days and I discover he's rebuilt his house right above my property again, only a little higher up so I wouldn't see it right off the bat. Of course calling up my Objects on Land list immediately showed his stuff there -- he'd used up nearly 200 of my object allowance!
I returned his stuff to him again but I really would like to know if there's something more I can do to put a stop to this. I've added him to my Banned Avatars list but I suspect if the Restricted Access thing isn't keeping him from invading my airspace, the Ban won't either.
Any suggestions?

When your logging off or going somewhere else in SL you can right click your land and select about land from the pie menu.
From there goto the options tab and remove the checkmark in the box where it says create/edit objects.
This will prevent anyone from building on your land.
whoops never mind...just reread your post...didnt realize they could do that. Best thing i guess is just send it back when you find it. (
I would report the person if they dont stop after you tell them to.

In addition to the "no build" thing you can file an Abuse Report on him. What this guy is doing is a violation of the ToS.

You could set all your objects to the same group as the land is deeded to, then turn on auto return.

Personally, I'd let his stuff stay there til he got 'company' then when they were going at it good and hard, return all his objects and set the land below to unsafe. Hijinx insue as they splat! Edit: in case he doesn't go 'at it' just make your land unsafe and start shooting at him. If the land is unsafe shooting isn't a TOS violation as its a combat zone.

Any suggestions? 1. As someone else said, you can seet all of your own stuff to the land group, and turn on autoreturn, which will keep returning his stuff. 2 You could switch on no-build when you're away, or simply not building anything, which would keep him from rezzing anything on you land. 3.You could switch on No-Fly, which would, if he landed on your land, keep him from getting back to the sky without flying in from another parcel. 4. You can consider getting a security orb or two and putting him on the ban/teleport home list, and put it up where he does his building. Set with a wide range but not to go beyond your own land, it would have the effect of teleporting him straight back to the welcome area every time he crosses the boarder onto your land. 5. Get yourself a good gun, and when ever you see him on your land, turn on damage then shoot his ass and blow him out of the sim. (If it's on your land and you've turned on damage, then shooting him is *not* griefing.) 6. AR him each time he comes back. Personally, I'd be mostlikely to do some combination of 1, 2, 4 and certainly 6. (But personally, with an emphasis on 4.) The guy in question is obviously clueless and has an entitlment attitude, since he thinks it's cool to build over your land, rather than actually maying a small amount of money to get his own. The best way to get rid of an idiot like this is simply make it so annoying for him to keep building where he is now that he gives up and goes somewhere else. Anyway, you have my sympathy on the situation you're being forced to deal with, and I hope that some of this advice winds up helping.

As the land owner, you have the option to delete his objects, too. If you float up on a prim, and sit there, right click each object in turn and instead of returning them, delete them. That way, he will lose anything he has out on your parcel.
That will probably be more effective than returning them to him. Cali

He's definately not clueless. He knows exactly what he's doing, he's just hoping he's more stubborn than you are. Personally I would wait until I saw him there (see his little green dot on your mini map) and do things in this order.... 1) AR him to get that out of the way 2) Set the land to no fly 3) Set the land to damage (to protect myself from AR) 4) Hit return on his objects 5) watch him fall from the sky at my feet 6) Blow his ass to hell with a really big gun 7) IM him and inform him that if I see him again I will give his name to every landowner in the sim and give them all copies of my really big gun with recomendations to shoot him out of the sky on sight. (yea ok I know that last one is a slight violation of TOS if handled wrong but he'll have it coming and landowners can protect themselves with the damage setting) EDIT: Although Caliandris had a much more mature solution..haha

I think this is great (as in funny), I wish I got squatters once in a while.

From: Jack Harker 3.You could switch on No-Fly, which would, if he landed on your land, keep him from getting back to the sky without flying in from another parcel. Actually, no. All he'd have to do is rez a prim, sit on it and change the z-axis. Boom, he's back up to his skybox. I like the other suggestions on setting no-fly and returning his objects. I check the Objects tab in my land regularly and it would give me something exciting to do instead of rebuilding my fireplace

If you own the land -- why not just return his objects to him and then set him on ban? You do have the discretion to ban anyone from your land on an individual basis -- it's in the land tools. You don't have to ban him forever, and you may want to "ask nicely" one more time before you do it -- but I agree, he probably knows what he's doing . Z

Turn on no-build for non-group members, set auto-return to 1 minute, AR him every time he builds a new house. Be sure to take a screen shot when you AR him.
That should eliminate about 95% of the problems.
- He cannot rez objects over your land - He cannot rez something outside your land and them move it it.. it will disppear after 60 seconds
