Issuing a SL Product Recall?

I just discovered that when I was duplicating patio furniture in my shop to recover with a new fabric and a slight design variation, I accidently has "stretch both sides" on. Which means that everyone who has bought one of these seats bought a seat that stretches .5m above the ground with another .5 buried under ground! (Where's the humiliated smiley?)

Obviously, a 1m seat isn't going to endanger anyone's toddler, and nobody has complained - I assume they have all just sunk their patio chairs into the ground. But I would like to correct my mistake - people paid good money for these sets and should have a perfect product in return.

Is there any way to gather the user names of everyone who has bought one of these items and for me to contact them to offer a replacement? I'm just using my SL Account tab - is there a more sophisticated tool?

Other people must have encountered this - I can't be the *only* one to have ever sold a faulty product, so I would appreciate any tips on what to do :)

Note to self: In the future, hover all prims and double check before marking items for sale... doh.

Usually the best procedure is to offer everyone a free replacement. :)

Yes, obviously I'm doing that but my question is how? How do I know who to contact, and how do I contact all of them?

There isn't really anything you can do Sabrina. There is only your Account History and I'm sure you're aware of this. I'm guessing the item is in a vendor that just shows something like "Frank Zappa has paid x amount to Furniture Vendor" in your account history. So if you have many items for sale at x amount then you're knackered.

You've obviously concerned that the customer may just tolerate the item and not comeback to buy more items from you. Or that the customer may fall off the seat and break several polygons in their ass. Oh well, that's (Second) life.

I posted to the classified and asked that anyone who didn't get a replacement within a couple of days contact me. Then went through my account history and dropped repaired copies along with explanitive IMs. You could also post in notices. I don't imagine anyone would mind. It'll be a good idea to go back and edit your posts when the drops are complete.

Is it the animation that is off, or just the aligning of some prims? I don't understand... :-/

Nevermind, I get it, she made it too tall, and didn't notice the prims also went underground. I guess this isn't a bad thing, if someone has a bar they could even use it as a bar stool!

LOL! No, the bar sets are coming out *next* week!

OK so basically what we're saying is that there are no commercial tools for book keeping, customer contact, or inventory sales tracking outside of the Accounts tools supplied by LL?

If someone would like to make a SL fortune, I suggest they get their PHP on and create Quickbooks for SL transactions. Actually, maybe *I* will get my PHP on and make a SL fortune :) But seriously, in an environment where there's so much talk of RL commercial viability, you'd think there would be some better integrated tools to support that.
