I believe the Lindens intended to support the sort of thing you're asking about with the Developer's Incentive, which is being removed due to it's abuse. However, there's a lot of good stuff out there from the residents, have you had a look in the SL Games forum? Also, there's a wonderful place called Numbakulla, which is kind of a mystery/adventure thing. For Lindens to provide this sort of thing would require a lot of time, money and development, and I think most of that energy is being put into developing the platform itself. The focus is different here, it really is up to us to make it if we want it, and that's a good thing. Linden support is usually more benevolent, I guess. Maby use find and see if you can find some like-minded groups. SL is so vast, that you could be in-world a long time and still only scratch the surface. Explore and enjoy!

I agree with your astute observations. I'd also like to encourage you to make it a better world - its people with your level of enthusiasm and willingness to make the world a better place that will hopefully translate into a better [virtual] world for us all.

I'd say somethings more wrong with someone who doesn't do their own work... Rework around free for all scripts..don't just copy a design.. and most definately do not blatantly put a freebie out for sale unchaged.. Hell as a GIFT from my shop (DHP, slurl below) I made a trampoline that is from a freebie. I changed the push amount and made the script no mod, but anyone who wants the base script need only ask me The 1L$ price is to track copies, and I donate randomly to people, causes, and money trees in the exact amount of it.

Well, the Lindens do get up stuff for our fun here and there.
There was the Winter Festival, where anyone could make something on a small plot. I enjoyed that a lot! I believe they also had a snowball fight with residents then, too.
Sometimes there are contests, too, for building things, or making games.
They also participate in some of the things residents do, like in the Touchstone Fair, where there was a Linden-dunking thing.
Maybe others can mention more that aren't coming to my mind right now. Usually they announce things like this in the announcements forum.

Parties: There are _lots_ of clubs, unless you're stuck in the teen grid. Quests: There are TREASURE HUNTS in the EVENTS listings and in the EVENTS forum; again, you might not be able to access this from the teen grid. RPG: Definitely available on the main grid, but not accessible from the teen grid due to weapons and profanity used by the players. I guess your problem (apart from being an illiterate _and_ a newbie) is that you're a kid. Why don't _YOU_ get off your butt and organize something for the teen grid?

It's so tough for one to make the items and scripts for a decent quest when one is swamped with work, or when one is running out of places (with no autoreturn) in which to hide the objects.
But yes, most of us builders probably have something in the works; I know I do.

There are much nicer ways to say the same things and still make the person feel welcomed and not insulted.
