I have recently had things on one of my plots (pieces of my store for instance) flying off the property and returning to my lost and found folder. Most recently the SL Boutique vendor and the Front door vanished right in front of my eyes as I was standing alone in my store looking at them and doing nothing in particular. I am within 11 prims of the simulator limit for my land, but the land is in two plots, so it has been suggested to me that someone may have ressed an object (of say 13 prims) on the other lot and that this caused the last two things on the lot I was standing on to vanish as they would be "over." This sounds crazy to me. I have been playing for almost a year now and I have never noticed this behaviour before nor known anyone that said it happened to them. I thought that if someone wanted to res something that was over the limit it would just tell them "over the limit." Also why would the system let some non-owners prims stay and send back the front door of the owner of the other plot? Am I crazy? Is this the way its always been or has something changed recently? This seems like a bug to me (or certainly a potential exploit), but some people have suggested its just normal behaviour.

Happened twice, a few weeks ago. Haven't seen it for or since. I chalk it up to the caprice of an emerging superintelligence.

Just this morning I woke to find a notice that a tiny little fish of mine that was sitting in a tiny little pond had flown off the edge of the world and been returned to my L&F. This fish has been swimming in his little one-fish pond for months and is on a piece of property I own (almost dead ceter of plot) that is well below the prim limit (maybe 600 or so below).
This has never happened to me before (that is, without a darned good reason).
I have to say, Dianne, that I was a little taken aback. This has not been the norm for my SL experience and I don't believe that I somehow got spared this little inconvenience earlier by pure happenstance. Though I will not rule out that this is "normal", I didn't see it that way this morning and you have just added to my conviction.

I've been having wandering and swimming animals on my property being returned as 'lost' for a couple months now. It does not happen all that often, but my swimming duck and wandering gazelle end up being returned every once in a while. So I don't think in this case it is specifically related to the version, but something about the way the sim functions when no one is in it and scripted wandering animals and fish.

It's possible for a wandering animal to wander too far and get zapped to L&F, but my fish has been in its pond for more than six months with no issues. This is even the second sim it has been in, having moved with me from a previous home. Additionally, the fish's movement is limited to about a 1 meter squared box so it isn't wandering all over hell and back without supervision.
I have had a different wandering animal disappear only to find that it had embedded itself in a rock while I wasn't looking. Come to think of it, this happened last week, but I don't think it is related.

I have two swans that have been happily swiming on my pond for the last 7 or 8 months. About a month ago they both flew off my land onto someone elses and were returned to my lost and found folder. I wasn't online at the time. Everytime i set them back out on my pond, within 3 days they have wizzed off again. Since the last time they went, only one has been returned so i'm now missing a white swan.

Is it possible that my original problem was caused by an animal wandering across my second lot? What I am trying to get at here is whether this is even possible or whether its a bug. If my prims are dissapearing because of wandering animals it's an exploit waiting to happen. A high prim "animal" walking across the landscape could wreck a lot of builds before its wresteld to the ground or destroyed by the national guard. If it's a bug that prims of all kinds, (including animals) are flying off into the ether then I can report it as a bug. Wandering bug, or Linden bug?

I've been having a similar issue. Prims that I've just closed the edit window on will disappear. They show back up again in about 5 minutes, but they are totally gone for a bit. Smells a bit like an assett server issue.

I dont think its a wandering animal problem (as in wandering into your property). All the wandering animal scripts have ranges that they wander within, and stay within the property. Plus he's only 10 prims.
Actually i just checked my email and saw that my antelope has indeed been returned. It is in a closed off area with 10' walls around it so even if he was not limited to the 5m range of wandering, he could never get out unless he sprouted wings. But yet, he has been returned.
I think it is definitely a prob with movement scripts when there is no one in the sim. There must be some prob with rezzing or loading of parts of the sim that make it so the animal wanders completely out of the property. This may also be the case for animals. I would report it as a possible bug.

Might be scipt related. I have a rental machine that keeps ending up in my lost and found on my island. Plenty of pims left on the isle. Bit annoying really.
