Has anybody else noticed that LL has removed the 'land bridge' sims that connected the original bulk auction sims to the mainland? I wonder if they decided that the void sims could be put to better use or if this is subtly acknowledging that users shouldn't be contributing to mainland cause they make it look like ass. :p

Good one! :D

On a related note, i visited the anshe-designed sim Hundertwasser the other day. I am sure Hundertwasser would have rotated in his grave if he saw the sim. The man hated square shapes and straight lines. The layout of the sim is a disgrace when you think of his art style. AC and company should be ashamed IMO. I hope he haunts her in her dreams :D

They're terraformed with dry land now. In fact, there are sims stretching all the way down the east and southern coasts of the Lake District, the southern and western coasts of the Snow District and the south side of the Southern District.

There must be forty or fifty of them named "empty" and non-accessible. You can see them if you turn your draw up to 256m and fly along the borders.

I've asked a dozen Lindens what's happening and they've each disavowed any knoweldge that the sims even exist. Stupid birthday hype is the first answer that comes to mind.

Take a look at the terrain in the Otherland Archipelago (TP to the Otherland sim, in the middle of it all). Awesome realistic terrain both 'land' and 'island' styles. No vast wastelands of 'flat green' or pancake islands there. Instead we have gently sloping vast green shoreline, mountains, forests, and riverside plots, and realistically terraformed islands.

We could have done the same thing with bulk sims but did not get the chance.

The one major hitch I see with the bulk sale sims is that it takes longer than 1 week to develop the land.

Otherland does look nice. I'm frankly surprised how well those void sims are working. Azure's do as well but theirs are empty, although, Nunki Kai's are working great as well and they're building steadily in one of them.

I've been told that a group plans to purchase blocks of voids and rent them entire sims at a time for people who just want a sim to manage a project without spending prohibitive amounts of money. The proprietor is trustworthy and, I'm sure, will do everything he could to ensure that everyone used the resources wisely.

But I'm disheartened to learn that a four pack of voids boot on random void processors just like the regular sims do. The owner has no real control over what other void owners are doing, or allowing, in their sims. There's no reliable way for the owner to even know which other voids are operating on the same processors as their own because LL doesn't bother to publish that information. I suppose it would seem to business oriented and look like they were trying to cooperate with people professionally rather than hosting a perpetually compelling virtual party.

We wouldn't want that now would we.

Have a look at Anshe Chung's new development (Parrot Bay, etc). Glorious!

I wish they'd contract with her (or whoever she hired) to design the next part of the Korean Continent. Gawd that's boring.
