I absolutely cannot understand why they link their public site to the game servers. If it were me I would keep them absolutely 100% independent.

take down the single-honed database server without a backup... sure everything will fail.
redundancy? seperation of tasks? even the most minimal forward thinking can prevent a "single point failure"
actually i'm quite surprised grief attack or just a down'd database server... very surprised to find out its an 'all-in-one' setup... ridiculous

Perhaps after something like this they'll come up with some placeholder images so the website can continue to function in the face of a grid collapse?
