Is Something Seriously wrong with the grid?

For nearly a week now many residents have been experiencing crashes, Teleportation issues, rez/derez object issues, and even worse texture loading than usual. Worse still these problems seem to be getting worse.

Several People have flat out asked for information on what is going on and been totally ignored. At first I blew this lack of communication off to the holidays. But those have been over for awhile now. Where is the communication? Even a simple we know there are problems and are actively working on fixing them would be most appreciated.

As things stand now this lack of communication coupled with the known issue forum (which does not discuss these issues) leads me to believe they are doing nothing to correct that which is making SL unlivable for so many residents. Worse, it makes me wonder if we aren't heading headlong into another major assett server meltdown and they don't want to tell us and cause a panic.

I have sent in emails, made bug reports, and even made a thread in technical and Second Life 'Answers' and have had NO response in regards to the more than obvious issues with SL lately. Seems LL is too busy making cornfields for SUSSED people to hang out in.

I'm really getting tired of the lack of customer service and lack of communication from LL. If it weren't for the friends I have and the time and work I have put into SL, I would be outta here in a heartbeat.

That's why they put up the "known issues" forum - they know about them... they want us to think they are doing something about them by putting a forum up about them (maybe)

If you are going to accuse them of lack of communication, it might be wise to first make sure they have not in fact communicated exactly what you are asking about:

I can't see them not telling us something to avoid panic. We are a cool, calm, and collected bunch not prone to drama.

In that post they do say they are looking a texture issues but not the other issues that are plaguing us. Teleportation and Rezzing/Derezzing object being two very serious issues pointedly not discussed.

The only thing I can think of it that they're still playing catchup from the holidays. Last week they had a skeleton crew in the office as a lot of people took vacation time. Given the fact that support seems to be understaffed to reply in regular situations, I imagine it might take them into next week to get back to normal.

If a problem is acknowledged and being addressed, you generally are more patient. The problem with a lack of communication is that there is no shortage of opinion elsewhere. People waste time trying to fix their system, resetting the settings, emptying the cache, checking to see if they have the latest drivers. All the sugestions that people offer up in their attempt to help you. When all else fails, they are told that maybe it's time to update their system, or that the performance level of the platform will probably never be as good as it used to be for them.

So 2 months later, it is acknowledged that something was broke with the 1.7 upgrade. Are there people who are no longer around to hear the news?

Well my thread in the Answers forum finally got a response. Apparently they have no clue what we are talking about with the problems we and others are having. I guess we are just imagining things...
