I ask because, once I've spent time with my family, I thought it would be nice to hold an open-house party in SL. No money changing hands, no raffles, prizes, competitions or chairs or anything like that, just a welcoming place for people to come and escape RL for a while
Oh and is there a way to donate any dwell from this party to a charity? _____________________

Yup, I was on, x-mas 2004! Rock on! Pretty lag free for the most part too, until you run into something were particle full tinsel and x-mas trees as attachments..

SL will be open pending a disaster. LL will not although some liasons might be on duty. Ask in the hotline. They need a non-contraversial question once in a while.

SL has always been open on Christmas. Here's a picture from Christmas Eve 2003, around midnight, when Michael Linden played Santa and flew in his sleigh to deliver "presents" to everybody who was active on the grid (maybe 100? definitely not too many). He gave us a couple of textures he'd created.
