okay people really now...what is the joy of going to a dance club?

is it...

A. you like clicking on a ball and watching your avatar dance for 15 min....Zzzzz.......

B. You enjoy having sex with could be 50 year old, fat trucker escorts.

C. you want to chat with "Cool people" (hello people, ever heard of a CHAT ROOM)

D. you like staring at cartoon nudity

E. You like listening to cheezy 80's music

F. YOu want to relieve your IRL stress by watching a cartoon charecter on screen dance in a virtual club

Lots of people think clubs suck, in RL as well as SL. But they are just one of a million things to do here. And apologize to the lady you just called a moron, eh... moron.

For me, the big draw IS the people. I have had some excellent conversations in SL clubs -- something that isn't possible in an RL club, because you can't hear conversation over the music. And you can have the music at levels that aren't painfully loud -- another advantage over RL clubs. A couple of years ago, I'd have mentioned the lack of smoke, but my state has since banned smoking in most public places.

I have heard some good music in SL clubs. (I have also heard some awful music.) Some of the people who DJ here are good. It's fun to listen to music from a DJ you can actually meet; more personal than an internet radio station.

Finally, the theme events are a fun excuse to dress up in ways I wouldn't normally dress, and maybe even win a few Lindens to help pay for my shopping addiction.

Not all SL clubs are alike. I've tried out quite a few where nobody actually seems to talk; if there is any conversation going on, it must all be in IM, and I"m not included. Those aren't fun. I've also been to some that are so crowded that my frame rate drops to 1fps; those aren't fun either. But the good ones can be a good time.

Calm down.

Stop eating Twinkies and Red Bull for supper.
