Most huds, you attach the item that comes with a hud and it shows up on your screen depending on where it is attaching. And make sure...and i can't remember the exactly menu, but on the top there is a menu that has "Show huds" make sure that's on.

Beyond that I don't know, it's one of the areas i'm still trying to learn with all the different animation huds and such.

Getting a HUD to display correctly can sometimes be a little tricky, because a HUD object can be moved off the visible area of the screen. Many times the HUD is positioned to display correctly if you attach it to say the Bottom Left position but if you instead attach it to the Top Right position it will be out of your screen area. Some scripters will compensate for that, adjusting the HUD depending on which slot you attach it to, but many do not.

Here are some tips:
  1. When attaching a HUD for the first time always try to "Wear" it. Right click on the object and choose "wear" instead of "attach". This way it will attach itself to it's last position. In most cases, it should appear on your screen.
  2. If you do not see it when you wear the HUD, you can either try attaching it to all 8 HUD slots one at a time and see which ones have the HUD appear on the screen. Or...
  3. You can shrink the screen UI and move the HUD into the screen area:
    1. Wear the HUD
    2. Make a simple box prim.
    3. Attach the box prim to one of your center HUD slots.
    4. Right click the box and choose "edit".
    5. Use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom out the UI. You will see a white rectangular box representing the edge of your screen. You should also now see the HUD somewhere outside of the edge.
    6. Select the HUD and use the blue and green arrows to drag the HUD inside the rectangle.
    7. Drop and delete the box prim in the middle of your screeen and leave edit mode.
