I went to log in and it said I had to d/l a new version, which I did. It went onto say i already had 10.4 installed do i want to reinstall it?.. so I did.. Then I just tried logging in again, and received the same msg and to install 10.5, which i did! lol!

some folks (including muah swear by manually downloading/installing the new sl client via the website, instead of letting the client try to take care of it... sometimes ya get weird behavior like you've been seeing. try 'd.i.y.' (doin' it yerself

I usually find myself downloading the full client install; F-Prot antivirus triggers a virus alert every time I try to auto-update from within the client.

i'm not at home to test myself, but sounds like they're having login server issues, not necessarily client/install ish's... so may not be exactly what's triggering the specific probs you're having. still, yeah, generally recommended to do the install manually...
hang tuff in the meantime
