Greetings everyone, before you begin reading the information below, I want you to know that this is a report that is filled with goodwill and praise for the Slate Community Members, and I am quite bias about those members. If you therefore have issues with warm and fuzzy threads, you quite possibly should not read this, therefore keeping your cynicism in full strength.

The Slate Community began some two and a half years ago when a group of Slate Residents decided to not only form their own group, but also donate all their land into that group, so we could take advantage of the "prim additions", and have Slate look more cohesive then most SIMs. In that time, I have seen one after another member doing whatever is necessary to not just keep Slate beautiful, but also make Slate a place where others enjoyed and even wished to become a part of.

During this two and a half years, I am happy to say that the Slate Community members never found reason to argue internally or snipe at one another publicly in these forums. The Slate Community members proved that it is possible to have a group exist without the in-fighting and constant complaining other groups seem to suffer with. About a year into the Slate Community group existance, one of our members left, and in doing so, took a large amount of land rights with them. At the time, I hadn't worried, as I had the income to tier up and cover those land rights, and therefore not bother any of the other members with the whole tier situation. Unfortunately though, I became unemployed last August, but I would be able to collect unemployment, therefore, I would also be able to keep the tier where it was. I honestly expected I would be working again soon, but quickly found out that no employer wanted the liability of someone who has to take a large quantity of pain medication in their employ, and therefore, I came to the point where I had run out of my Unemployment Insurance. It became clear at this time that I could no longer afford the tier, and therefore, I began asking the Slate Community members to donate more land rights to cover the tier that I could no longer cover on my own. Without question, each and every member began the hard process of finding extra land rights, and even more, some actually raised their tiers to donate those extra land rights. The Slate Community, within one week, was able to cover the roughly 21K of land rights that I had to let go of, showing me again, that the Slate Community members are quite possibly the best in all of SL.

In writing this, I wanted everyone to know just how special the Slate Community members are, and how lucky I feel that I have got to know each and everyone of these members. The Slate Community is, to me, the best group of people I've ever seen working together in SL. While we don't attract a lot of attention to ourselves, I wanted to publicly thank each of those members that not just answered the call, but also showed great concern for me and the current situation I'm in. I am proud to call every Slate Community member a friend, and I wish everyone in SL had the opportunity to know each of these people themselves.

Thank you friends, not just for saving Slate, but for the concern you showed me, and for the constant encouragement you give me to carry on.

THANKS!

That's wonderful to hear, Bob. I feel the same way about the Indigo Crew. :)

And I feel the same way about Boardman. Having friends in SL makes a project so much more fun.
