I recieved an email saying my AR was resolved and a link to the police blotter. I proceeded to go to that blotter and I cannot find it. Now i know that only basic information is given there but I was wondering if the fact that the person griefed me was A LL instructor.....
I am still angry about that and tho i have no doubt this thread will be locked I wanted to say what i felt about it.
They suspend a person 3 days for warning people about an exploit and I saw they suspended people for stealing lindens thru an alt because of an exploit,,,what about that guy that sued the LL company and the others that have their accounts on hold...what about them???
I used to read the forums and chuckle at all the anger in here..now i am one of the angry...I used to like to keep the peace now I just want to throw a piece of raw meat into the middle of the room and watch the carnage....Thank you LL for making me the hostile bitter forum junkie that I am today.....
To quote a snippet from a favorite movie...adding my 2L worth...keep the change ya filthy animal.....

Rain, while I agree that if we knew more about the actions the Lindens take in enforcement we might feel more comforted, from their perspective that's not an option.
Reason one - Confidentiality. Not all ARs are justified. If they publicize that Mr X was investigated for a scam, but found innocent (or insufficient evidence was found), Mr X's rep takes a hit even if he did no wrong.
Reason two - vigilantism. This one is tougher. If they allowed the names of accused to be published, even after LL delivered a suspension someone is going to claim it's not enough and seek to punish them even more. Conversely, of course, if we hear nothing about any sort of punishment that also encourages vigilantism. (By punishment I also include naming their names on non-SL boards around the web and generally defaming them).
Reason three - The intent of punishment is to change behavior, most of the time. You can't change behavior if someone is a known thief, scammer or harasser - not as easily anyway. People tend to behave according to expectations. In those cases where a griefer "was just fooling around" (a common excuse), maybe a visit from a Linden and 3 days without SL could convince them that there are better ways to spend their time. Will they do that if their name is smeared all over the police blotter? *shrug*
Reason four - need to know. Our comfort isn't that important, in the big picture. I'd personally like to know more than "Your report was resolved" but how important is it for my enjoyment of Second Life? It's really only our need to know that justice was served and our need to believe in a sense of law & order that compels us to be curious here.
We're supposed to trust LL to do the right thing for the greater community. That may or may not be happening -- personally, I'm one of those skeptics who won't believe it til I see it. But I've dealt with Lindens personally in SL who have been unfailingly polite, persistent and dedicated in resolving issues. I have no other reason to not trust them than my own natural skepticism. And to be honest about it, that really shouldn't be enough.

Thank you Cindy for replying...in my honest opinion as a resident and from what I read in the forums everything in SL is from a Linden perspective...Those that argue or challenge that perspective are dealt with( banned..suspended...hold on accounts) so I will shut up now unless provoked because for the most part excluding griefers i like this game and dont wish to be kicked out of it....thats just my perspective tho and probably will be until it changes for the better for everyone in SL and not just a few... rain

Well, ya know...the Linden club is kinda cliquey, and im sure that the will protect their own much more than we will ever know, under alts or whatever..have seen some things that if the rest of us did it, wed have been burned at a stake and then banned for ever. But, enuff belly aching, ya just have to create your own world here, enjoy your friends, and pfffffffffffffffffffffffffttttt on the rest of em. Im not one to like injustisce in any shape or form, in fact its the thing in r/l that pisses me off the most, and i too am saddened to see it happening here. For the most part, the ppl i have met in SL are smart, friendly, good to chat with and be around, for what its worth, im not so sure id want to be a Linden, its an ugly job if you have any conscience at all. well thats my 2cents worth for tonite, and by the way Lindens, did you EVER do anything about the guy i filed a report on Wed nite for some of the worst racial slurs ive ever heard in my life??? Just wondering ...

I was going to write a flamer here and thought better of it.
I find SL is more like real all the time, and thats not why i came here, i wanted a fantasy world that i could enjoy whenever i wanted to.
Whats happened lately has not been nice or fair, and i hope that LL take a good long look at the example they are setting. Made a wonderful new rental area in Bae, nice parks and waterfalls, trees, pretty and peaceful. What do i get next door but an "escort" house, with a nasty manager to boot. I think im more dismayed at whats become of SL, since the content bonuses went south, this is another example of where LL could have stepped in and made a difference.
Sometimes you wonder how they pick and choose, who and what will be considered a situation thats punishable by suspension or banning, ahh well i wonder too what God was thinking when He created the platypus...lol
Throw the meat rain, ill get some lawn chairs ....
