Has anyone tried to see just how far up (High) they can go in SL? I got to 50k, before my finger got tired of holding down the "Page Up" button. I noticed the sky getting darking, but never realy saw the stars (If they are there). What made me decide to check this out was the old newpaper article about someone buying a "Space Station". So I wondered just where it might be located and just how high.

I'm under the impression the highest one could potentially go is (pardon the "scientific notation" here) 3.4028235E38 meters - the largest number a floating point variable can hold.
I've heard of people making it up as high as ten million meters before thier client crashed - I've been up that high thanks to Beatfox's push cubes ![]() _____________________

I was tossed to something like 180.300m last night. The space is blue, and there was nothing I could do....
*breaks out the air guitar and synthesizer* Major Tom to Ground Controoolll, I'm stepping through the door...... Shiny wasn't hilighting and LOD glitches were all over the place with my outfit. I have some pics but I can't hit them from work. |

I was tossed to something like 180.300m last night. Little setback from extreme exploring? Or practicing for an upcoming avie cannonball gig? _____________________

when the floating bug occured in Brauni, we were getting pushed passed the 100k mark everytime we tried to walk
most of the time we crashed, or else we'd just be stuck looking at blue nothingness ![]() |

I've been up to about a billion meters, I don't think it's practical to go much higher than that.

I've been pretty high in my lifetime, but never quite as high as Rush Limbaugh, Mr. Anti-Drug, has been.

10,522,860.9 meters (6,538.6 miles) into Space
This is from the archives. It may not be the highest, but it is still the best documented (IMO) account of space travel in SL. |

Little setback from extreme exploring? Or practicing for an upcoming avie cannonball gig? Someone wanted to see if her little wand worked. It did. I want a moddable copy of whatever does that. I'll pay L$2k for it. |
