I could have sworn that with the advent of point to point teleportation that I was able to make a landmark to my floating gazebo at 600 meters and have it actually take me up there. Now I click this landmark I made and it deposits me at ground level. Confusion ensues! What happened? Did I imagine this? Did something change? Is it a bug? Whats up???

Make sure that you have the "Teleport Routing" on the About Land options set to "Anywhere".
If it is set to "Landing Point", then the landing point will override whatever the landmark says.
If it's set to "Blocked" then you get some really wacked behavior.

Why is this not moved to Feature Feedback? You know that we all read those obscure little forums every day to gather relevant information. We know you know because you move threads to these obscure little forums all the time.
Don't drop the ball on this jewel of information. Move it to the correct location so that everyone will see and benefit from it. Do it now.

Sorry for continuing the OT guys. From: Khamon Fate Why is this not moved to Feature Feedback? You know that we all read those obscure little forums every day to gather relevant information. We know you know because you move threads to these obscure little forums all the time.

If you're gonna insist on going on this little crusade, could you at least put some useful info in when you post? Like pointing out how to report a post as being in the wrong forum and explaining why it should be elsewhere? Oh, and I do hope you're actually reporting miss-postings if you're so damned worried about them. kthxbye

From: Khamon Fate /me rubs forehead and drowns in the sorrow of being publically humiliated beyond hope of recovery I wasn't attempting to humiliate you (if I was I would have done a far better job than replying to a thread hardly anyone's gonna read), I was offering actual constructive critisism. In fact, I actually considered sending a PM instead of posting (should have really, but meh). I'll admit the tone of it was a little sharp but, personally, it does seem a little childish to me.

It is true. Yesterday I PMed Cybin and then Torley to discuss the laughable "moderation" we've been suffering recently. Cybin didn't bother to reply, Torley did at least bother to fill in one of her nine standard posting templates. Unfortunately I'd cited only one example so she just addressed that instance rather than talking to me.
Thank You AJ for reigning in my childish rampage. It did make me feel better last night. I'm beyond the point of caring now having realized that the situation is hopelessly lost to flippant randomness.
Oh and I apologize for giving you too little humiliation credit.

Would that be a feature request or a bug report?

If not, I'll make that a Feature Request. I'd always thoought that any routing was ignored on your own land...

It would be a request. The current systems works as designed so it's not a bug. It's just wrong. Landmarks and landing points provide services to two types of audience. Neither should override the other.
Landmarks should despoit us at the landmark coords. Landing points are for people traveling to the general area that don't know where to land. It's not unlike LL to program features as pure technology rather than work from the user perspective. Most of Second Life is coded this way.

Neither should override the other. Landmarks created by the land owner, anyway. Hmmm... How about this. If the land has the ability to make landmarks disabled, it can assume that the landmark was authorized by the landowner and allow landmarks to override landing point. If anyone can create a landmark, then the landing point overrides landmarks.
