I have an idea for a totaly New Vampire RPG...

I have tried -so hard- to read L. A. Banks' vampire novels... and I just can't. She's no Anne Rice, IMO. Of course, even Anne Rice isn't Anne Rice-like anymore, since she's turned from writing about vampires, witches and soft-core porn to religious subjects (her latest novel is Christ The Lord: Out of Egypt).

yeah i hear ya...i just bought the book online and i am not sure how much i am gonna like it well see...well i dont know that much about the vampire huntress series either but it sounds pretty neat...

What kind of vampires?

Anita Blake, with regular garden variety suckheads?
Buffy, garden variety, but the can have a soul, etc.
Fat White Vampire Blues, ability to shapeshift at will.

Also, can I play a immortal evilslaying guy.

well now i think thats totally up to the RPG players, if you want to be a soulless vampire more power to ya...but we chose souls for our selves haha

Hi everyone, First off it's Duke... not Drake... anyway with that covered (no worries Bethany just givin you a hard time) the vampire series and vampires are this, hell has 7 layers(not 9 like D&D) they are all evil but the deeper you go the more condensed the evil hence more solid forms.. at the 6th lvl are the vampires, and we're talking predating Cain(for those vamps buffs out there) anywho the website i assume she fixed it if not it's this: http://vampirehuntress.com/leslie.html ok that's done, that skips the intro to the site. Vamps are human but with demonic taint, for the question about the buffy thing with souls.... sortof... see there's a vampire council and they are the epitomy of evil... 12 seats, to mirror the 12 guardians of light...(the website will explain all that or IM me in game and i'll give you a notecard) anyway Vamps are like this: Human looking, in every way, even when they havn't fed in a while... mor the most part.. when they fight the hunger they turn slightly plale and start to get sick.. like shudders thier own body fights them... hence the frenzy, they have to eat(feed) you WOD players are familiar with this.. They also possess telepathic abilities that no human, guardian or not (read the website) can match. all thier sense are supernatural... animals can't touch them, especially the master and council lvls(these will not be attainable in the RPG except by special circumstance) their powers grow as they age.. every hundred years or so they get a boost in dark power.. a gift from thier lords below for surviving... they can also be demoted(this is hell everything works in reverse) to 3nd lvl from a 2st by feeding from a master lvl... hope fully you get the idea.. but here no blood bonds, no mind rape(sorry no better way to put it) anyway.. that's vamps in "human" mode then they have a battle form, thier anger, lust, hunger, pretty much any excited emotion makes them drop fang(they keep them in thier gums, hiding them as it's poor form, and quite frankly rude to walk around in public, and vampire society with your fangs showing, as it displays a weak will thus someone to dominate) when they enter one of these excited states, they bulk up a bit gaining enhanced supernatural strength and speed more the higher lvl generation, at master lvl they pack on an extra 300 lbs ALL muscle and drop around eight inches of fang, battle ready.. also thier eyes change color( reflective qualities as well) depending on mood and excited states.. normal being normal, gold is slightly excited, deep crimson red being highly pisses off(get the hell outa dodge) and they basically rip anything in thier path to shreds, so with that covered i think that answeres... wait no just thought of anti vamp weapons... as vamps we are alergic to silver, stakes through the heart, sunlight, holy symbols, and holy water... so the garlic thing... go eat some italian( no it won't sustain us but we can still taste it won't hurt us) running water... yes we can take a shower....uhm anything else just IM me or Bethany and she'll contact me..... that should answer any questions, i'm off to make scripts and models for this...WEEEE
