I'm confused. I'm looking at a building on a piece of land. I see it is owned by a certain person, but when I search for people, I don't find that name?

Is it that they have me muted, or is it that their account is disabled?

Anyone know for sure?

Make sure "Online" isn't checked. It is possible that the account was closed...I'm not sure what happens to the land in that case...hopefully someone else knows.

On the edit window by creator and owner names there are "profile" buttons - so you shouldn't have to search.

I've noticed with some of the items in my inventory, though-- the original maker's profile stays on the item, even if the maker is no longer in the game. Or at least I've noticed this to be so on a few items I have; whether it's standard or just a bug, I can't say.

If the landowner's name no longer appears in search, it'd probably be best to post a question about the land in the Land Management forum and ask about it, maybe it could be released.

Be sure not to ask live help the same question even if you don't mention the name of the person, because to answer would be 'disclosing personal information' :)

I had the same question a while back when someone I knew was listed as still owning land but they too were 'unsearchable'. In the same way I just wanted to know what that meant, but couldn't get an answer. Turns out they had left - so I'm inclined to think that the answer to your original question is "Yes. Probably. Both."

Ilianexsi's suggestion is a good one if they own the land and not just the building. If they are gone, it might hurry up the release process and you'll know then.
