Oh dear, drinking and posting are mutually incompatible, Sitie ;)

Stop asking pointless questions and come join the fun, I invite you to a dragon duel in my land :)

If LL sold to another company. That might not be a bad thing. Not like the staff would all loose their jobs really. It's just bad business to buy a company and run it into the ground unless something like Microsoft felt threatened by LL and what they have created here. It would be easier for them to just make and fund their own department for something similar and then buy off LL's if it takes well.
Which I see none of that going on. I mean there are pay-to-play games out there like Ultima Online and what have you. But they fear the idea of people making real money from an online game. Or they just don't understand it.

Honestly I don't know what their problem is on that subject, but apparently they see it is a sin of some sort to sell the "work" we do on ebay.
But they are willing to spend money to stop it. Which I see no way of changing toward their favor.
In any case most people are drawn to SL for the very fact that its all intergraded into a system that is fun also.
Hmm so I guess that could be a threat on the fact that LL takes their player base away.
But until SL becomes a stable platform with decent graphics and programing. It is hardly a threat.
SL is nowhere near a sub for a good multiplayer fantasy RPG. At least not yet.
They just now got pixle shading for that matter. And only on water. Hurray for lag. Because we don't have enough of that yet? :p

Anyway in my opinion, which matters little, If LL is sold then the company taking over must have some ideas to improve it. And are actually trying to keep it going.
Then maybe it might be a real threat to other games. And thus giving reason for some other company to come along later and buy it out. Just to run it into the ground.
By then this concept of this online economy and making real life profit will be more popular I would guess.
