I wish I could have gotten an account with the last name Liberty.

With two accounts running at the same time you can see in two different areas or viewpoints.

You can use one acount for a specific financial purpose, since SL has such a primitive personal financial system. The is done all the time, I think the Shelter has Sheltered Ambassador, Flip Pergrine or Slboutique has Commerce Leader. This use is quite common.

You can use an account to stockpile your inventory to reduce your main account's inventory load time, or serve as a backup for inventory items of value.

You can use an additional account to work around the silly limit of 15 groups.

You can use one account to be in SL and not have any groups and thus no group chat at all when you aren't in the mood for it.

Multiple accounts get multiple votes in the proposal voting system so when you see a good proposal that needs votes you can follow the old adage, "Vote early, vote often."

With proper scripting you could play catch using the avatar as the ball.
