At what point is a rebate in order?

I don't mean to be anal here, but c'mon! We are paying for being able to be in-world last I knew. I am a patient guy, but...WTF? This happens way too much.

It's the nature of the beast. Anything that gives this much power to the user gives the user the ability to do bad things as well as good.

I don't mean to be anal, but please ditch the sense of entitlement. Considering how our lives could be (and may be in the fairly near future), we're pretty insanely lucky to be able even to do something like log into a thing called SL. We even have the option of doing it for free -- how lucky is that?

The only way we will ever get any kind of compensation is for the grid to go down and LL boots everyone that is not a Linden out for at least 24 hours.

Now you know why there are people still inworld on private islands and are not being booted out. This way LL doesn't have to compensate us for the down time. Read the wording in the TOS about it very carefully. It's all there.

I believe the answer to that is clearly spelled out in the ToS or somewhere. Can't be bothered to check myself, but if it concerns you, you probably should. I think the answer is, "after 24 hours of downtime." IIRC.

Woohoo TWO compensation threads!

Quick recap:

IF this qualified as unscheduled downtime.

IF this lasted for over 24 hours.

As a Paying Premium member without tier, you would be entitled to:

34 CENTS!!

If you owned an entire Island sim. you would be entitled to:

$6.84!!!

Yup.. BIG money there.

As it is, any compensation will be credited to next month's fees. So if you REALLY REALLY want that 34 cents, go couchdiving.

If you want a rebate that bad, I suggest you go buy a product that promises you a rebate when you mail in the receipt. Then mail in the receipt, and you'll get a rebate. Then you won't post this here and everyone will be happy.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the TOS protects LL from 'downtime' in this situation because it was an attack by an outside party. I'm sure it means downtime due to a failure on their part.
