Male parts

Hi,

I'm sure this is covered elsewhere but my Search produced 100's of threads with miles of posts and no answer (I'm sure the Truth is Out There but after clicking through about a dozen threads I gave up).

My question is, can males "wear" our genitals under our clothes? I'm almost laughing when I write that because it seems incredible. I thought the "Package" option on the Legs appearance would bulge out clothes -- but then when naked allow room for genitals.

But after noodling around with Package and a cheapo genitals I purchased, I can't make it work.

So... we male avies must strip, then quickly "attach" our genitals as we're getting naked? What am I missing?

As far as i know there are parts that can go invisible when worn with clothes. All hearsay of course, so not sure how convenient they are, heard that there can be some issues if someone click the invixible part, leading to embarassing siuations

turn on ALT shows physical, then when you hold alt you see people looking rather ridiculas with lip nipple and penis attachments on.. look at the back WOW!! bum attachment too.. ya the Prims go invisible but not really invisible

Well ... you shouldn't map people anyway, of course ...

BUT if you do meet someone who fascinates you and you simply can't leave them alone ... make sure you are using discreet. No use showing up and showing brain, it takes a very particular type of av to get past that kind of embarassment with.

Ummmm... Well, though I am usually female, I play both genders, so I'll admit I played with this a bit. *blush*

The 'package' option is only useful in appearing more male-equipped when you have clothes on. It compensates for the fact that clothing layers can't tell that the avatar has something attached there. When you remove your clothes, you'd want to also reduce that 'package' value to look right with the clothes off and a genital set in place. For most males, it isn't worth using that setting if you're undressed fairly often.

Most scripted male parts offer a 'hide' option, that leaves them in place but makes them invisible, so they don't show through clothes. Handy if you are planning a 'date' and don't want to pause longer when you strip.

The best solution though is to detach them and keep them in an easy-to-locate folder, so they are readily available when you want them. This slightly reduces script load on the sims that you are in, and people who are building or otherwise have 'highlight invisible' active are not subjected to a 'ghost view' of your private parts in all their states.

Haven't seen any 'private parts' that know weather or not you are wearing clothes. As far as I know, you must trigger that switch manually, and it can't be scripted. There are some times you'd want to be wearing layers that are considered 'clothes' while still having private parts visible.

The odd prims that you see on people's bums and the like are most likely touch-sensitive spots for scripted private parts, like xcite add-ons.

BTW - such add-ons are not just for guys. There are also prim add-ons for girls that have a similar, though much less prominent, issue with showing through clothes - pubic mounds and prim nipples come to mind...

You can enlarge your package so much that it looks like you are shoplifting a smoked ham, but it still will not hide an attachment.

as a scripter myself, yes, yes you can. but it depends on the bits. some are scripted to just "turn invisible". it's also possible to make the prims resize themselves or rotate up into your body or something when you don't need them out, so you could keep them attached. most won't be scripted this way though. "turn invisible" is easier for most people to script. and i don't know my male bits brand names well enough to point you towards a specific vendor

I would like to warn about the dangers of 'hidden' weenies. I don't want to upset the person in question, and of course I wouldn't mention any names, but if he does recognise this, understand that this is in no way a judgement on him - just frickin' hilarious and a valuable warning

I attended an art exhibition premiere, in which around 20 people were gathered discussing the works. The artist was not able to attend for some time, so we milled about downing the champers and doing the general chatter. After a little while, in walks the artist, lagging to all hell, hardly able to move, let alone able to see what was going on because nothing has rezzed for him yet, and begins to edit a painting...

So if you must keep your particular attachments on and invisible, double-check they really *are* invisible. If you TP into a laggy area and can't see anything, you might just be displaying more than you bargained for.

(The funniest part was when someone asked him about one of the paintings, presumably the one he was editing, but referred to it as "The one you're pointing at"...)

Fa? You're saying that you can make scripted male parts hide or show depending on what you're wearing? Or just that scripts can be manually called to show or hide them? If you're talking about automatic clothing detection, what LSL call are you using that can detect weather or not the avatar is wearing specific clothing layers? I know of no such scriptable test. If there is one, I'd love to know. I'd love to be able to have my prim nipples show or hide depending on weather or not I had a top on...

One thing that I have seen is scripted parts that automaticly hide if you enter a PG-rated area. Handy if your sim crashes at an intimate moment, and you wind up in a random sim on login.

Someone could make a prim codpiece, if they were worried about checking genital visibility before attending art shows.
