I had never been "griefed" before, so I asked some long-time residents to throw me up there into space tonight. Man, what fun! I can understand what an inconvenience it would be if someone did it to you if you didn't want it to happen... but since I asked for it, it was a blast! The person who did it seemed to be a trustworthy long-time resident, and used the tool AGAINST griefers, which is cool. I also got to see a bunch of replicating honking penguins which was hilarious. It was all on a silly sim, and appeared to be something that people expected and enjoyed immensely.

Just pointing out the fun side of an otherwise "bad" practice - I would never condone this in sims/locations where it would annoy or inconvenience anyone. There is a time and a place for everything. :)

Getting catapulted is fun.

I have yet to see someone make something that can toss an avatar back and forth. It seems like playing avatar catch would be fun.

Getting "orbited" is not fun, you just all of a sudden are stuck up in the air, in my case I think it was at 0 0 700-something. There's no fun moving or seeing anything good.

Two people can get catapulted and you get to see the other person thrown and flying along besides you.

A year or two ago someone made a catapult (or a trebuchet, whatever) and I think they were surprised by the crowds and lines to get shot through the air.

A very silly thing to do is attach a scripted object that uses setforce to apply a constant acceleration to you and have it push you sideways. Then try to go about your normal business.

I was orbited (hundreds of thousands of meters up constitutes as that, I think) but she sent me a TP back within a few seconds - I was reluctant to take it, I wanted to free-fall for a while. Though I didn't see much but darkness, I have a good imagination and watching the numbers fall rapidly gave me a good idea of what was happening - my mind filled the rest in. I would like to be catapaulted too, so if anyone wants to test their anti-griefer protection, please let me know and I will be a guinea pig for sure! :)

There is also a cannon you can shoot yourself out of, but that only sends you maybe 100m or so. But it's fun.

I was bad once and took the linden trampoline, changed the push value to a higher number, set the textures to clear and dropped in a fairy/pet follow script (one that floats around a crowd going from person to person). The result was much laughter as random people just launched off in different directions as you didnt know where the invisible flying trampoline was going to strike next. And yes this was mostly around friends. :D
