A standardized way of being able to vote for people in a contest instead of having to send IM's to individuals (there are a couple places that have made a voting board).

Being able to get a preview of what an outfit/piece-of-clothing would look like on your avatar before buying it.

Being able to see without a doubt whether items are able to be modified/copied/transferable before buying them (many stores label them as a courtesy, but some stores do not).

Having the option of loading the main map's graphics onto the local machine so you can actually see what areas have land on them without having to wait a long time, zooming in and out over and over again to get it to load, and so you can actually see a map at all when you first log in. Make the locally stored info on the map be a slightly different color.

These are some of my ideas--what are your ideas?

To not add anything more to content until ALL current problems are fixed.

I love some of the new things. Loathe others, and more are just annoying but I deal with them. To each thier own there.

But let's all work together, residents to find and point out and LL to fix, and get the world a bit more stable and usable before even the next minute change is put in. Would be so much eaier on everyone.

On us, because everythign would work. Minor changes would (hopefully) only affect minor things even if broken.

On LL because they would have a non-buggy base to work off of, making creation of new content easier. As it stands, they make soemthing and then the next fix changes how everythign is done and they have to go back to the begining all over again. That HAS to be annoying.

Can we try it? Please.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

I'm with you about fixing the problems first. I was just talking about things way in the future.

I mainly brought this subject up because people are complaining about many of the new options. I thought it might be good to ask people what kinds of options they would LIKE to see in SL versus all the options they don't like or want changed back.

i would LOVE the chance to "try on" clothing before you buy it. Although i suspect currently it would have to be done the same way Prim Hair demos are done.. and Skin Demos.. ...but seems like it could be done..... though perhaps some way to try things on that was easier for "Creators" would be helpful.

- - -

But for your concern about knowing for "certain" if something is Mod/Copy/Trans before you buy, that's EASY so long as you can "Buy" the item and not "PAY". With "Pay" you can't know for certain. But any item that you can "Buy" you can tell.

Just select "Buy" from the Pie Menu... and you can "see" the contents of what you are buying... you can usually see an item list. The way the items are marked in there tells you the permissions for the item.

Ex: ~
tiger sofa (no trans)
tiger chair (no copy)(no modify)
~

Though you have to be careful doing this since if you hit the Enter key or something by accident you might buy the item... so you have to be careful to click "cancel" or whatever. Maybe some more convenient way would be nice.

On that, the only option to date I detest is the new camera options. Which some like *shrugs*
I'd still opt for being able to chose which system you like to use.

After that?;
-NO PUSH OPTION PER AVATAR reguardless of what land you are on. One resident said it best (forget who) "It is sad that we have to click 'Accept' to get a hug, but not to be orbited or pushed."

-The return of age verification on signup. By whatever means to make it fair world-wide. No, I don't know how, but the open Grid is a problem imo.

-Not really one thing here: but for every Linden in Linden Lab to go through each and every Feature Propsal and read every single one of them. All 1600+. Every one. All the proposed and not responded to, the proposed and responed to, the accomplished, the "we can't do that" ones, the discontinued ones. Every one that any resident has ever sugested.

Why?

To let them see the overview of the residents and how SL has matched (or not matched) thier desires. Also to instill ideas that they may not see until they read, or that they may come up with from seeing two or more other posts that might not even be related to waht they actually do for SL.

Not much I want, but a lot in it's own right *chuckles*

The biggest problem with these types of options Fmeh is they will be built on a broken backbone. Until the root technologies are updated most of these other things are taking resources from what needs to be done. Updating the physics, cacheing and scripting engines are paramount to moving forward. Everything but the UI relies on these technologies, and they affect things from prim limits to lag (client and server).

Fixing the backbone may not be "sexy" from the end-user point of view, but coupled with a fix to long-standing issues it can serve as a codebase for the next generation of features Linden Lab hopes to offer to amaze us.

I'll say again--I agree with you completely. I'm talking about options for way in the future. Not now, because there are so many bugs, but way in the future.
