gday! so far ive worked out various things about the way the map works to shows whats there (what size things to use etc) but i havent worked out at what bit setting they are?
are the islands 128x128 - 32bit? or 16bit? when they show up on the map (zoomed in)
i wish i could get 12 sims to recreate the mona lisa in 382x512 pixel glory (yes thats a fare few pixels but i was hoping for volunteers...?)
the current picture im doing is a test...

They are 128x128 as long as you never change the zoom. If you zoom in any amount you can never get them zoomed back to 128x128 without closing the client. Before I started using the WebMapAPI I was grabbing sim images directly from the map display. To do what you want I recommend screen grab as many of the sims you can at once (I use SnagIT  , get that into your paint program and crop it to the borders. Grab another chunk, increase the canvas size and merge the two parts. Repeat until you get the size you want. I have a sample I did for another user a while back I culd probably dig up in my inventory if you like.
