First, I should say that I've not yet downloaded the new version - but as of yesterday, I was crashing everytime I was tilt/panning my cam (using CTRL+ALT). Has anyone else had this happen? If so, did it go away with the new version?

I just mentioned this in another thread, actually. I don't exactly crash when I move the camera, but I come pretty close. FPS drops to a stand-still. Touching an arrow key to return the camera to normal position causes FPS to return to normal, instantly. Move the camera again, and it drops again.
I'm not talking about a drop of just a few frames, by the way. When I say stand-still, I mean stand-still, less than one FPS.
This phenomenon began with 1.7. In later versions of 1.7, it did get a little better, but now it's worse than it's ever been. It's pretty frustrating.

Very odd, as mine just started the other day. I've had zero issues with 1.8 - not counting the slow loading textures. I'll start with updating my drivers and then d/l the new version and see if I can replicate the crashes.

I've had this happen a few times, but very infrequently.

Juro, does this happen in the sky, or anywhere??
I have this happen ALL the time if I have ripple water on and in a sky house (water is below, but can't see the water)..
If I walk around, usually ok..but if I use ALT panning, I will crash for sure..
I unchecked Ripple water, and never crash like I used too...
I forget once in a while, as it is too nice to not have on, so training myself to turn on when on the ground, but turn off when going into the sky..

I'm not sure Michael, but I will for sure check that out. I was up in the sky when it happened, but if I recall correctly, it happened on the ground too. I've updated to the latest video drivers and I'm about to d/l the new SL version - so, I'll cross my fingers and hope it all goes back to 'normal'.

OK - just updated to the new version, turned on all my usual stuff, went up to my sky-platform work area and crash. Next, I'll turn off water ripple and see what happens.

I've been crashing alot lately, I'll sign in and my "build" button will blink a couple times, then It'll just completely crash, it even shuts down my computer at times. I thought it was getting better until lastnight, I noticed that everytime I crashed.. It was when I was holding in ALT to zoom around, so it looks like you're not the only one. :/

OK - so I took Michael's advice and turned off 'ripple' - and so far, no crash. And I've been a panning and tilting fool! The odd thing is that this just started out of nowhere the other day.
