Since there is no audio tech forum, I'll post this here - mods, please move it if you feel the need.


I found something in-world today that would relay my shoutcast stream (at up to 128k) to up to 100 users. It was 300L for four hours, which I find reasonable.

I just wanted to double-check how this works, though (SL is down, no access to notecards). Is this just a proxy service so I do not have to run the Shoutcast server on my box, or can this actually take my single 128k (or whatever) stream and broadcast it through this service at the same bitrate to many people at once without increasing my output bandwidth?
