Second Life 1.9.0.25 release Wednesday March 15, 2006
In our continuing effort to improve the Second Life experience, we are
planning an update to Second Life 1.9.0 on Wednesday, April 13, 2006. The
grid will be going through a rolling restart. A new viewer
will be required to use 1.9.0.25
* New MiniMap options for Same Group, Calling Card, Sworn Enemy, and Furry detection.
* Experimental support for ATI users that are too dim to switch to nVidia even after the latest Catalyst drivers require .Net 2.0, seriously, WTF!?!
* New toggle in Debug for Random Inexplicable Client Crashing (RICC), set ON by default for classic experience.
* CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-C and CTRL-SHIFT-OPTION-C (for Mac users) now enables Clubber Mode which drops all settings to bare minumum to enable a better (read: more plausible) framerate, while cranking up particles to full blast.
* llGetParcelFlags and llGetRegionFlags actually fucking work, this feature was quietly swept under the rug after we realized it'd require resetting every single defaulted parcel on the grid in order to work.
** land owners should check their parcel settings after the update to make sure we didn't accidentally enable Edit Land or something.
* Region Asset Queues that stack up will disable rezzing for top ten users of the queue at that time to prevent YOU CAN'T BE TELEPORTED HOME BECAUSE THE QUEUE IS FULL messages overflowing and crashing the client.
* llGiveInventory has been removed and will be reimplemented at a later date.
* Shiny Lights The Way To Victory
* More Cowbell option added in Debug
* You can no longer pay a fully transparent object.
* llGetPie() has been implemented, but doesn't do anything at the moment.
* Live Helpers now have the option to delete AR'd objects, ban users, and otherwise pwn whiney callers and griefers. Your welcome.
