I know,, I know,, not another person singing the praises of the staff of second life.. But hey if the shoe fits I'll wear it...

I've had trouble with second life for weeks and weeks my whole computer would freeze up sooo I purchased a new video card and thought I did the updates for the drivers... also I reasoned that since it was a brandy new card it should be updated...

well I'm just plain old snuckered because guess what??? the update didn't seem to help me and omg I was soooo angry that my comp would freeze up. As time went on it seemed I wasn't the only one with problems and with the other updates things seemed to work great until I bought an Island.. all of a sudden I couldn't go onto the island..

If I attempted to texture or do work on the land I would freeze up.. Soo today I bought 2. Gigs of ram hoping it would resolved the issue but nooooo I kept freezing up my computer.. soo today I called second life support frustrated and thinking I had all the info I needed.. I spoke to MichaelB.. (I'm a big fan of this guy) he said he would hand it off the engineers who took control of my account and did tests they had me send them logs and stuff and I have to tell you this all began like 5 minutes after the request was made.. then 8 e-mails all different things they were working on it and I realized they were doing that for me... I'm still amazed at the effort they put into it..

Well so what was the problem???? ok, if you're freezing up listen cause well maybe it's the same issue.. when you go to update your video drivers it's a 2 step download.. one is called Microsoft .NET Framework the other is whatever drivers you have.. now not all are like that but my Radeon is.. it's two downloads not one and of course I did the first not the second...

Well the update on the drivers did it my second life program is a different animal now... it really did work wonderfully for me.. but this letter is a simple thank you to the guys who went out of their way to try and help me..

thanks MichaelB in Tech support and thanks to the Engineers who also worked to fix my issues..

Yes, those .NET driver are a critical part of the ATI driver setup. Silly if you ask me, but a nessesary evil since that is way they wrote the driver. :)

Are you saying that you did not have .Net before, or that there
is a new version of .Net out now?

And congrats. ;)
