Preview and Main Grid at Same Time?

Are we supposed to be able to have one avatar on the main grid and the preview grid at the same time?

Yes it's perfectly fine. The preview and the main grid are not connected. For instance, the preview grid (1.11) only has 24 sims on it.

yea sue I have two PCs that i use for second life and have had crucial on main and in preview grids at the same time many times.

Since the grids are completely separate, I don't see how any issues would crop up with one av being on both grids simultaneously. From my understanding, the only time the preview grid has contact with the main grid is when an av logs into preview for the first time and that av's inventory is transferred from the MG asset server to preview's asset server.

Beatfox, I don't even think it has that much contact. If an AV logs onto the preview for the first time, it'll have the inventory already there. Since everything on the preview grid is just a copy from several weeks prior.

Your inventory isn't transferred from the main grid until you log on to preview for the first time. If you obtain an inventory item on the main grid after the preview snapshot has been made (regardless of how long it has been since the snapshot was made) and you haven't been on the preview grid yet, you will have that item in your inventory when you enter preview.
