Hiya, and welcome to SL.
I've seen many posts in Answers recently that I actually know the answer to. But since I can't post there, I can't answer. Many times the poster also has restrictions on getting PMs/e-mails as well, so I have absolutely no way to get out information.
There is a large pool of knowledge in the cesspit of a General Forum (*snickers*). While a lot of trolls and such, there are many many more that will gladly help and provide answers.
Concider posting here first, or in both places. We usually respond faster than Linden Labs as there are more of us. And LL is VERY busy on Wensdays in any event.
Hope this reaches a few and helps =^.^=
~Jessy

From: Taco Rubio this isn't a sham? Okay. So spelling is not one of the things I can help with as Taco so helpfully pointed out. And Fran, the forum PM's are turned off by default. They need to edit thier peferences through the USER CP at the top of the forums to enable them. Though I think just posting in General will get New Residents faster answers on average. Not official answers, but LL -does- read here, so anyone suppling false information will most likely get swatted. And not the good kind of swats ^.~ ~Jessy

I've noticed lots of these, and it must slow down the rate at which questions which only LL can answer get dealt with too.
To be honest, I think changing the name would help - "Second Life Answers" is a bit broad. People think "oh, I want an answer, I'll post there" I imagine, and, you know, sticky threads don't get read a lot of the time....

But remember, we're talking about forum organization here that renamed the obvious "Off Topic" board to "the Sandbox". It just feels ... wrong. Some new people are finding their way here to General, maybe it's just one of those things that are going to happen unless you can get someone to rename "Second Life Answers" to "Ask a Linden". Oooh, I just had an idea btw, *rebump*

How about someone putting up a proposition or writing Torley (or both) that points out Jessica's post and requests that "Second Life Answers" be renamed -- I suggested "Ask the Lindens" but that wouldn't be the only possibility.
And maybe over in "Answers" note that there's lots of willing souls here in General who could provide more immediate gratification?
