Demand for Models

Recently I was asked to take over a modeling agency in SL. Having modeled for several Designers in SL and never using an agency I’m curious about this. Do you the Clothing Designers of SL use agencies? Is this something you would be interested in trying? Granted I’m very picky as to looks, hair etc. If I see a demand for this in SL I will pick the best of the best as far as looks, etc. As of yet I have not worked out to many details, I first wanted to see if there is a demand for this before I waste my time. So please send me your thoughts about this, weather they be positive or negative and let me know. More questions please IM Sammy Barrett in SL and we can chat.

Thanks

I have found that the best way to get a date is to just be kind to somebody and ask them out. The whole "model agency" thing is so 1982.

:p

To get back on topic, from what I've seen, most of the major designers tend to use themselves for ad pictures for vendors, etc. No idea about lesser-known designers though. Models seem to be used more for things like fashion shows.

Yes, for fashion shows. No, otherwise. I'm only speaking for myself, of course.

I tend to use me or one of my friends. My current main guy model is me :P It was easier to make a guy shape that I liked than to find the right guy, so i did. One of the other reasons I have the do-it-myself approach is I can spend many many hours on a design. I may finish up at 3 am at which point I'm rather happy and ready to do some pics for my ads. Having to book a model just doesn't fall into my patience level. In addition, I dont know about other designers but I imagine it's the same: I get tons of people offering to model for me all the time. I will tend to ask a friend sometimes just because I know they get a big kick out of it and they happen to be online.

I"m sure there are plenty of other designers who would enjoy working with a modeling agency..i suppose it could sort of add to the overall experience in that it reflects an RL thing that designers do. At any rate, good luck in your endeavors. :)

I appericate the responces. I also tend to think more clothing designers use themselves or close friends. But if a modeling agancey is what they would find useful it might be nice to have. I for one know im so sick of seeing the bubble butt, pudgy tummy avi's running around calling themselves models. My opinion only, I tend to look like the look of a perfect sculpted body in all the right propotions. So maybe this could be a worth while thing. Time will tell. Thanks for all of the input. It is greatly appericated.

I tend to use myself, two alts, and several friends as my models for clothing photo shoots for Ceera's Foxy Fashions. When I get my friends to help, I usually pay them with free copies of the clothes I ask them to model. Then again, I'm a pretty small presence as a clothing designer.

My own account and those two alts have high-quality Human skins, several top-quality furry avatars, and several hairstyles, and could, potentially, work as fashion models for other people. My account and one of my alts can be either male or female in appearance, as required. But I haven't really tried to 'get work' as a model for anyone else. Generally I'm too busy with my Fox and Ground Construction Co business to bother with other side jobs.
