This question probably has been asked/answered before but i hadn't seen it.
Is there anyway to make and keep a bridge joining two parcels that are separated by Governor Linden's road?

Make sure the parent/root prim is on your parcel.

Be aware though that maintenance can come along and delete it at any time.

Allow me to make some points on this:
If you make a bridge, have it follow these simple rules: Have it high enough that an UNREASONABLY large board can get under it without catching. That includes mainsale. Either that or make it a raising bridge with easy to use triggers. If you have to cross Linden Land, they are normally very willing to ignore that fact as long as the bridge does not get in the way and it's connected two parcles from the same person. Lastly, whne building the bridge, you will have to link the prims so that the root prim is on your own land, and the reast hanging over the Linden land. They can still return it if they choose, by the autoreturn will not do it out-of-hand. This means you really have a limit of about 40 meters when crossing Linden land, with two 30 meter objects hanging over the linden land on each side. Now, if you want to cross a Sim border with a bridge as well, you will need to use this trick: Build your bridge as above. But make sure that the parts of the bridge 'touch' at the sim border. It's a good idea not to overlap in this case. Add an extra prim to to the bridge section on each side of the bridge. This prim will be best done with a transparent texture so you don't see it. Place it slightly lower than the 'floor' of the bridge (where you are walking). Have this prim be attached to the bridge section, but sticking out over the sim border into the next sim. This prim will allow you to walk between sims and stay on the level for that extra few seconds while the sims catch up. Did that make sense? ![]() |
