Those of us who have somewhat got the hang of things SL may not feel the need to read the F1 help.
It would probably be good for those who don't feel the need for the F1 help to read the help to see what's in it, so we know whether we should direct people to itr when they ask a question, and to check it for correctness, conciseness, and completeness.
I confess to having only glanced at parts of it. What I looked at looked pretty good, a lot better than earlier versions of SL help info.
Who's read the F1 help? Do you have any suggestions for improvement in it?

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I confess to having only glanced at parts of it. What I looked at looked pretty good, a lot better than earlier versions of SL help info. I have read through the F1 help reference and consistently refer to it as well as referring members to it, both old and new, as a friend and mentor. It is a good carry-around reference, and a good first step before moving on to the combined online resources of secondlife.com, the SL Forums, and the LSL Wiki, my three favorite Web citations when carefully teaching new members how to be self-reliant (or at least curious!). F1 is The Hitchhiker's Guide to Second Life, though naturally some entries have been boiled down to "Mostly Harmless."

From: SuezanneC Baskerville Might one be able to use the F1 help as the basis for a beginning class in SL? Sure, one might want to present it as a recommended reference and mention the hell out of it while teaching a class for new members. However, personal experience on the grid and the student composition of the class will give any instructor a slightly different and more focused view on what particular subjects and materials to cover. I remember, way back, attending a beginners' course where the first five or ten minutes were on commands and the next hour plus was on how to act (behave) in Second Life. It was mighty instructive.

It would be nice to be able in some fashion to give people an url that they could click on to make the help browser go to a particular page.
Like, "if you click on SLhelp://building , you will see a picture of the object editor" and they could click on the SLhelp url in the text and the mozilla browser would go to the correct page.
We have the llLoadUrl command to open a page in the default browser. Why not have a llLoadUrlMozilla to load a page in the mozilla browser?

I read it last night in bed. It took a bit for it to get going, and the ending was a bit of an anticlimax.
I'd not recommend it.

I'd not recommend it. Really? I couldn't put it down and I woke up with a kinked neck and my hair was all static-y.
