How is SL time set up? I've noticed that at about 3:00 PM SL time it gets to be sunset, but there's no night.. when is night? Maybe I've not been in at the right times to see. Maybe night time is not very long? Does day & night cycle through in the same way as in RL? Thanks, Yirrk

Thanks, Yirrk Second Life Time, or SLT, is synced with Pacific Time, or local time at Linden Labs in San Francisco. SL, however, operates on a 4-hour day/night cycle, roughly 3 hours of daylight, 1 hour of night. So, if at 3:00 PM it was sunset, shortly thereafter it would be night, then, about an hour later, you would see a sunrise. You can override the day/night cycle by using World menu > Force Sun > Sunrise, Noon, Sunset, or Midnight. (Set it back to normal using World menu > Force Sun > Revert to Region Default.) Photographers and builders will often want to force the sun to Noon to ensure adequate light, for instance. In addition, estate owners can override the sun position for their entire region.
