Well.. I'm not sure if this should be a milestone, but I got myself a stalker!

Whenever I'm busy, and I tell them so via IM, they teleport in. Not only that, they bug me about trying to get one of my avatars for a LOT less money, lied to me about a Linden threatening to delete their account, and called me an asshole when I brought up that fact as the reason why I do NOT trust this person to resell my product.

And yet, I've been giving chance after chance after chance with this person. I really should just put my foot down and just remove said person from my friends' list.

<smiles grimly> You have two choices: Remove them and say bugger off, or keep them around and put up with them. They have no incentive to change, and so will probably not make any effort to do so.

Considering the amount of drama people have tried to bring to my door, for apparently personal problems, that I have begun offering "invitations to the world' to several people who have decided to project thier own issues on myself.

It's cold, it's hard hearted, and it's how I stay sane. I just wish I could help some of these people get the help they need. Whether that would be a clue-by-four or professional therapy is hard to say some days.

This should really be a no-brainer. If someone doesn't respect you enough to not stalk you down and not curse you, then delete em...simple.

And as to punwar, I look forward to it as well. As soon as I turn techra back over to it's owner and have time to set back up my and Bot's little plot, it will be coming back.

*sigh* It really should be a no-brainer. I've had a couple of problems with this myself, and it took me a couple of months each time to screw up the determination (or exhaust enough of my patience) to deal with the problem forthrightly.

In an even more anonymous environment, I think I would've dealt with my own problem more quickly. I don't know if the apprehension I felt was a testament to Second Life's immersiveness. It's certainly no testimony to my own willingness to confront

I am also a victim of such few similar events. I just don't understand why some people can just teleport right to your location on a fine day & demand that you talk to them & spend time with them regardless of what you are doing/building/scriptting before hand. A complete disrespect for your privacy, not to metion your rights.

I mean even with the most due courtesy I never ever teleported right to anyone before. I never ever got to use the map to point teleporting before. Even if I need too, I would usually have the party offer, or me offer a tp to either of our locations (visitors will feel more invited that way) all after comfirming the other party's acceptance via IM of course.

Few stalkers of mine would just pounce on me the moment I get online, oh man. Soon I will always find myself searching for their names on the friends list on the SL website before logging in for a peaceful period of work.

I guess what can be done is to add a function to "Busy mode". You can't deny its useful to decline inventory drops & IMs, maybe the Lindens can work on disabling a map friend-friend direct teleporting with the mode enabled, that will rock!

I have two of those. One is cute, the other is pesky but charitable. They both TP in and I because lately I'm up to my eyebrows in scripts I don't see them until I step on them.

personally, I dont like the fact that people now have the ability to just TP wherever you are without you sending them a TP. I wouldnt consider myself a stalker, but I do sometimes tp near to where someone is(out of range of sight and public chat so I dont accidentally interupt whatever they might be doing), PM them and ask if they are busy, if they say yes, then I just find something else to do. Mostly I do that because I like exploring, also because some of my buds like to set traps for me when I TP in and ive gotten a bit paranoid. ^.^ I do sometimes drop in to torment some freinds playfully. that type of thing is ok on occasion for most people I know.

All in all, I find it odd that the creators had a perfectly safe system set up that forces someone to TP first to a landing location, then fly to whereever you need to be. It allows people more privacy and keeps people from accidentally dropping in at a very bad moment. my advice to people is that if you want to follow your freinds around, do it sparingly and dont expect a lot out of them when you arrive. If they look like they are in the middle of something, walk away and leave them alone. If they dont seem to angry you are there, consider IMing them to make sure. There is no better way to ruin a freindship than to butt into a private conversation between two other people. If they wanted you involved, they probably would have sent an invite. Dropping in to say hi of your freinds maybe once a week is cool, its acceptable, just make sure you arent interrupting anything. I always enjoy having company over to my new house. I just wish I had more movies to watch on my TV ^.^

My suggestion to the raptor, if you like talking to them, then maybe you just need to put your foot down and tell them outright they are being a pain in the butt. If they persist in being that way, then say your goodbyes and tell them to shove off. Ive seen your AVs and they are indeed awesome and you really dont need a flea constantly begging for you to pay attention to them and serve their every whim.

What they should do is switch the positions of Add Friend and Give Card. Do not be friends with people that do not respect your personal space.

Switching those positions would be good.

It's a foreign culture to many - when people come from TSO, for example, they are used to just popping in to people's places, unless the place is locked. That's what you DO there; you don't wait for an invitation. Ditto other games, I am sure.

Took me a while here to learn that some people don't mind if you join them unannounced, but others do.

For myself, I always like it when people join me unannounced. On the rare occasions where I'm up against a deadline, I just say so and they pop off.

I met one of Burkes stalkers (she was introduced as such "this is Avatar Someoneorother(obviously not her real name) my stalker), and she seemed quite happy to be introduced in that way.

Speaking as someone who has had stalkers both in SL and in RL, you cant really call anyone who is on your friends list a "stalker." Annoying friend maybe, but not stalker.

Neo Rebus was the best little stalker ever. I miss him being inworld.
