How would one place an ad in the "Find" screen?

I'm just curious how someone would advertise to show up in the Find screen. I'm sure I saw an option for 30 Linden a week or so once before, but for the life of me, I can't find it anymore.

Go to your Profile (rightclick yourself and select the option) and click on the Classifieds tab. That's where ya do it!

If I wanted to snap a picture and post it in the Classifieds, how would I do that?

EASY PEASY. There's a Snapshot button at the bottom of your screen. Click it to take a picture!

When you're happy, click Save as Texture. Then, drag and drop that texture from your inventory into the gray X box in the Classifieds ad you're making. Or, you can click the gray X and it'll let you choose. Either way will work!

Just to point out there are two different methods of advertising. The classifieds are as Torley mentioned, to list in find is something different. You can list in find by right clicking your land and selecting 'about land', options tab. There you will find a checkbox to list in find. The 'description' field on the description tab is where you list the keywords for find.

I should add that both methods appear in the find menu. The listing via about land lists it in the 'places' section of find, whilst the classified listing...well in classifieds

I should probably explain a bit.

I've been a resident for 2 years now, and have barely done anything besides fly around, and watch what everyone else has been doing. I've bought some small plots of land over the last couple of years, built a few primitive structures on them, and ultimately just abandoned everything....content to just drop in occasionally.

I was talking to workmate of mine about computer gaming over a cigarette break the other day, and found myself raving about SL, and how much it's evolved over the last few years. She started asking me about my friends there, and what I'd done, and I suddenly realized that I'm definitely "Socially Challenged" in a lot of ways.

So...in the over-reactive manner that I usually approach things, I decided to try to change that. I bought a nice piece of land, had a lot of fun decorating it, and finally decided I was ready(?) to meet the SL world.

That's why I was looking to advertise; basically to invite people to drop by, and see whether I'm really ready to deal with having to "chat/IM/fly without banging into things", and all that other annoying stuff
