There are some PvP groups out there. Pirates of Second Life, Repulican Gaurd are two that I can think of off the top of my head. You can do a search in your find menu under groups to find them. Also, you can do a search for Combat under places and it will list several sims that allow damage and combat activity.

As mentioned above, a good idea is to use your find menu. Check out the Events listing under the find menu and see what is going on.

Hey, Emir, welcome to Second Life. :)

The places where you can do damage are noted at the top of your screen by a little heart and a 100% rating. If you take enough damage, you'll "die" and be teleported back to your home location.

There are many groups in Second Life that stage combat and/or do combat training. Jedi, Sith, armies, air force groups, you name them. You can look them up under the Find tab at the bottom of your screen (Find is your best bet to, well, finding anything).

As for places to hang out ... you can always try to find something by looking in Events under the Find tab. Events are a good way to meet people and make new friends. Barring that, you can look up the Shelter or the Elbow Room, as they tend to have a fairly steady group of people hanging about (and some freebies).

Welcome to Second Life, Emir. For future reference, be careful where you refer to SL as a "game" because it's liable to start another flame war :)

Some sims allow your avatar to sustain damage. If you see a heart icon on your top window bar, you're in such a sim. Jessie is the most famous, but you can probably search ("Find" button) on things like combat games to find places where you can play with guns and not get AR'd.

Look at your Map (the big one, not the Mini-map). The green dots are people. You can pan around for crowds, or you could also just do a "Find" and look at the Events tab for the current SL time. You'll find the larger crowds playing Slingo or Blood21 or just dancing at clubs.

Emir, make special note of this. The weapons are fun, but please make sure you restrain their use to sims where they are permitted...or that you have the permission of the av you are testing the weapon on. One of the biggest complaints I hear from new users is that they were reprimanded for using their weapons on another user while weapons are made and sold everywhere in world. I'd hate to see you get jaded early...

The user gets a bonus to their stipend proportional to the amount of time individuals stay on their land.
But I was under the impression this is no longer operative.

They can push you around there. Not damange, but knock you about.
It's an annoyance, but one most of us could do without.

In a damage sim, you have a certain amount of health points allotted to you. Damage from weapons subtracts from that value. When you zero out, you're booted from the sim and sent to your home location.

No, they don't do damage - they just irritate people and freak them out. ;)

Example: I was sitting in a friend's house, chatting, when a newbie began firing a weapon upon the house and demanding that we come outside and come with him somewhere. Presumably, he was engaging in some roleplay of his own device, but it wasn't very entertaining to have our discussion interrupted by weapons fire.

So, yes, please restrict weapons use to areas that allow it. Oh, and be mindful: many clubs in Second Life have a "no weapons" rule - decorative or functional. Usually best to remove all your weapons before entering one, or you may find yourself booted out of the club with or without warning. ;)

Welcome Emir,
There are cops and you can IM Police Chief Cory Toonie or Police Chief Wesley Jimenez anytime.
You can also call Chief of Police Peter Nelson, the head of the formerly known SLPD.
Don't mind the fact that this SLPD is no longer the SLPD as they were mainly pretending  to be a SLPD and as this could lead to the assumption that they are really cops in charge they got renamed to Police Department PD by ....
god.

So the cops here are rather gods here with a proper god menu in the client of course... :) . They really are the only group that don't pretend anything (except that they will still improve this world fundamentally) and have the power. Therefore it's a god dictatorship. The only world I know where god haven't left five minutes after creation because he saw it was good. Well, probably they saw more of a bug hell...
And so messing around with a rampant gaggle of people begun.
The major design flaw in this world is the lack of a proper self replication system (and as the residents invented full featured self-replication-pretending tools, they sold like sliced bread) Instead of a self-replication system for people god allowed self replication of things... which lead to several major plague episodes and gods had to clean up that mess.
But there is a god thread elsewhere about the creation, the faith and the first being, stated not by lousy ridiculous stories written ages ago, rather proven by apodictic hard digital facts.

Regards,
Leff.

Not to get into another camping chairs thing, but, for Emir's information: having lots of people on your land for long periods also boosts your position on the Find menu. That's always been more significant than the money, since it means that people who are searching for products to buy are more likely to come to you.

If you bring up the Find window (ctrl+f) and select the "Popular Places" tab at the top, or go to the "Places" tab and do a search for something, you'll see the results come ordered by a column called "Traffic". That's what the chairs boost. So if you ever use the Find to try to find something, be warned that the order the results come in may not represent how popular the places are for anything else but camping chairs!

Welcome to SL Emir.

One of the places I always recommend to new users is The Ivory Tower of Primitives. (search in the "places" tab).

This is an excellent place to learn how to build. (I wish I had found it earlier than I did) Even if you don't intend to be a big builder, everyone in SL should really have a basic understanding of how to build. It will make the experience much more enjoyable.

You play a role, its a game. If you seee only a person here and there, dude you picked up the wrong bus, try using the find tool and look for events, the more green dots, the more people, and blings and lag. Try visiting the many sandboxes, clubs, cafes, shopping centers or the waterhead, there´s always fun to find around.

Play? there´s Cassinos, the Arcadia contest, Slingo, Bingo, Tringo, Dark Life and a whole lot of assortment
