Transfer of account a ToS violation?

I remember having a conversation with someone about them making ready-made-bling characters for sale (whole accounts, post-blinged etc). And today I saw this on the police blotter:

From: someone

Date: Thursday, July 20, 2006
Violation: Terms of Service: Account Transfer
Region: —
Description: Transfer of account from one resident to another.
Action taken: Warning issued.

As per Section 2.4 of the ToS, a transfer of account is possible with written approval from LL.

So, I'm wondering what would happen to the guys who were thinking about making some $$ on twinked accounts.

It means the written approval must be obtained *before* the transfer.

Yeah I know, what I pointed out before.

I'm asking what happend to the guys who were making a biz out of this? They were saying something along the lines of this being laxed due to the new registration system.. etc etc and thus they can make a biz out of this, should dig up my posting archive to find out who was doing that.

They can because there's no way to monitor transfer of the unverified accounts, all of which can be blinged out, and it takes only minutes to bling.

The buyer can take full possession of the account by submitting payment info and no one will be the wiser. Nobody will know a transfer ever happened unless LL's been monitoring the machine hash. But since no in-world violation happened, who's going to spot the transfer?

Written permission, and also not all account types can be transfered.
Lifetime accounts can't(understandably) be transered.
Afaik, all other account types can be transfered?

But if they use money to bling it out, they verify it. Unless they transfer the money from another account I guess, but it does make it fiddly. Look out for methods in upcoming versions of SL where LL start monitoring this.

Can someone please explain what "bling" means in this context?

Thanks.

You can buy money from SL Exchange without giving info to LL.

A "Twink" is the correct term.

In a game like WoW, twinking refers to someone rich being able to equip a low level character (usually level 1) with the best (expensive) gear the guy can wear and having the low lvl breeze through the levels. This is usually called "twinking". In SL, the terms "blinging" or "bling-out" have equivalent meanings.

Also in the dictionary, "twink" means something else sometimes ... :D
