Info-Hud? Instead of Hub? Just and idea.

I'm not sure if this would be the correct posting area for this subject. But if not, sorry. :o

Why not have this Infohub stuff on a personal attachment. So we can be tied right into everything from anywhere.

I first thought about making one for groups. So they wouldn't have to spam the group channel with "TP Please!"
Intead I thought why not have a group leader send an object to each member so they can wear it and be informed of events, request tp's, (or just have a direct tp to the club built in) and all kinds of other little gadgets related to that.
Maybe even built in donation buttons that change depending on who is the current host.
Or maybe built in dance buttons so no more wasting prims on the clubs land with dance balls or what have you. And no more trying to find the darn things.

I notice a lot of places ask for song requests. Why not make an input system to sent text to the main clubs server that runs these info-huds. Instead of trying to figure out who to send a request to and spaming the wrong people. Or spaming anyone for that matter.

Maybe have it minimizable so its out of the way when nobody is at the club?

Anyone got any idea's as to why this would not work well?
I don't want to waist time making something that might be pushed asside too fast by something better.
Does anything like this exist already?

I know IM's seem faster. But if it is setup right, all they would have to do is press a button and trigger a ding, and/or light, on everyones Hud.
Something that stays on for the duration of the even. So everyone who wants it can see easily that something is going on at the club right when they log in to SL.
I mean to me that would be better than sending out advertisments every 10 minutes and spaming the channels like crazy.

I know someone who would like it for throwing spontaneous events.
And I might try to make it for her if nothing else.

I'm just curious if anyone else would even see that as practical. Would that even be interesting to people?
I'm not worried if anyone takes the idea and runs, if its even worth doing, because if I made it, people could copy it with their own versions because its so easy to make.
It's just a matter of how complex a club wants it to be.
I got a lot of other ideas for it but I won't go into those.
I just wanted to get everyones opinion and open the doors to others if they would like to run with the idea. :D
