It's bad enough that LL is supporting "special" projects do they have to drop crap into my inventory to promote their special groups as well.

EQUALITY would be a nice change of pace around here.

PS: Why can't I delete the folder?

It's the LIBRARY folder. Everyone has that Library folder. You're seing the same folder as everyone else. At least they didn't drop it in your objects folder.

They are doing this because it helps them sell their product. Whatever the product may be, it has been hard to figure out the past year...

I predict that at this town hall Punxsutawney Phil will crawl out of his prim and declare that Second Life will officially be called a 'Thingamabob'

He will turn, see is how shadow and vanish back into his prim, thus ensureing another Six weeks before the next major point update.

Because it's not in your inventory.

LL should drop a copy of the waterfall penis that was at last year's Burning Life into everyone's inventory instead.

Edited to add: I really liked the movie, and I see it at a promotional tool for Second Life. The thing that disappointed me was seeing clothes and skin that are not from the best content creators in SL, but the ones with the longest residency, connections or whatever.

Or, *gasp*, the people actually working on the project team. I am all for a good FIC fucked us over storyline, but this isn't one.

Get a group of friends make a project, it is not hard.

This is not a new project. They showed a preview of this last year, when I think even Chinatown was still up. People have been working on this for a long time. I think LL just jumped on the bandwagon of promotion. SL currently has a handful of good movies highlighting the world, when a world like WoW has hundreds to thousands.

If FIC content creators have the best skin and clothes, use them. I didn't say anything in my initial post about people being involved in this because they ARE FIC. I could care less about all of the FIC drama.

On the other hand, as mentioned... this seems to have been in the works for a long damned time; There's quite a few choices now, but this time last year?

Maybe the machinima thing is related to the new camera doodads in 1.9?

You said old and connected and you are taking out the side of you neck about a project that was around before your join date. So, do your research before you write, this would apply to your "paper" also.

First of all, I said, "but the ones with the longest residency, connections or whatever." With the word whatever meaning what ever they used to select those involved in this.
Secondly, I didn't know how long this project had been in the works. As stated by another poster, there may not have been a lot of choices back then, but I'm sure there were still better ones. For example, Starley Thereian has been a resident since June of 2004 and has fantastic skins.
I expressed my feelings on the matter. The forums are the appropriate place to do so. As for your attack on the newspaper, that doesn't warrant a response.

Ya think? Of course it is, it's all related. And we have no say in that or any other matters, period. Welcome to the SL06.

Holy good Christ! We have no say over a company we don't own! Imagine that! An outrage!

This isn't a democracy, Cat. Never has been.

Holy crap!

Can't people just enjoy a solidly fine project such as Silver Bells and Golden Spurs without getting their panties in a bunch? (Tha's knickers in a twist for our UK listeners)

Congrats to everyone involved. I look foward to more such works, promoted or not.

Actually, just to clarify something, LL certain did have more to this than just jumping on the bandwagon of promotion. They even created their own special SL client that let them do the lip-syncing for the film.

In fact, if you read the "Making Of" page on the Bells And Spurs site, it was all organised by a Linden from the get-go.

I concur. Congrats to Bedazzle and everyone else who worked on the project. Talk about high quality machinima.
