Can someone point me in the direction for more information about the preview than what's offered on http://secondlife.com/community/preview.php ? I posted a thread yesterday asking about information but received no responses, so I figure I just didn't word the question right. Does the preview force an install on top of my current install, and is there a chance that I could lose all my settings (my avatar appearance, my items, etc.) by using the preview? I'm not going to install the preview if those things are probable, and I also won't install it until I find out about the answers to these questions. http://secondlife.com/community/preview.php doesn't answer any of these questions. Thanks.

The preview grids have never caused me any trouble like inventory loss or other significant problem since I started at the end of 2003.
The preview grids will install in a separate folder.
The one available now is version 1.12, it will be called Second Life Aditi. Aditi is a grid name, there is another grid named Siva that is also used for previews at times.
I run the main grid and both previews, when there are two different ones, at the same time, at times, and it doesn't seem to cause my system any trouble.
It is conceivable you might need to reset some preferences; I am not aware that is actually a problem with the 1.12 preview.

From: Fmeh Tagore Thanks for the info. I already downloaded it and was just waiting to find out this info. I'll be installing it tonight and checking it out. Again, thanks. I am afraid you will not be able to use the preview grid due to your start date being after the user database snapshot made when the priview grid was opened. It has happened in the past that they updated the preview grid user database after opening it.

I thought it was the 19th--I've been SL'ing since before then. Maybe I didn't read something right...

Your start date shows as 7-12-06, I think the database was copied in June.
I have posted in Second Life answers asking them to update the user database for the preview grid.
