Yes, I know everyone complains about updates. I just feel the need to join the masses.
For a while, say a month and a half, I didn't really care that SL was updated every week. Now though, it's too much. Not only is the grid down for the official updating period, but it seems like it's taken down again a few hours to "fix issues that have become apparent with today's update." Now, I know SL is a huge program with a lot of coding that I couldn't even begin to comprehend. And yes, I understand that there are going to be unforeseen problems when an update is released. So.... shouldn't there logically be a longer gap between updates to minimize user frustration? Why not do one major update a month instead of little ones every week? And why not have updates that actually are useful? Who really cares about tear off menus or changing "Find" to "Search"? And yeah, the eyedropper is kind of cool, but it would be cooler if they actually fixed the texture rezzing issues first so the eyedropper could be used. I could write a list of complaints about what the Lindens do and what they have promised to do in the past, but there's no point in that. I know that no Lindens will actually read this (or take it seriously if they do) but hey - at least I got a bit of it off my chest for now.
Updates. God hate them all.

I think best, would be for EVERYONE to go into the preview atleast a couple times.
Check out the things you normally do, make sure OK, then would not be a surprise it does not work as now.
I login to preview check the thing i do, and they worked, how many of you did?
This will not catch 100% of the bugs, as live will always be different then controlled preivew, but I think most of the people that complain on update days (not saying you Ren), have never look in preview, and we all should.

Problem with preview grid is its about damn worthless for load testing, and theres so much shit in SL that you'll never get it all right.
I tend to agree with what another poster wrote elsewhere, they are simply updating too frequently.
At the moment we seem to be patching once a week, thats a bit much for items that aren't just client side changes and tweaks.
A week simply isn't enough time for patches, most games go a month or more between them, and most games simply don't have the sheer ammount of things that can go absolutely bug fuck that SL can.
Also the new features getting added in are somewhat on the useless side imho.

Why didn't you join the masses by posting to one of the 2^12 threads about this subject? OHHHH got it. Join the masses as in "start another thread about this". Cool!

If you know this, when why are you starting a new thread on an existing topic instead of using an existing thread? Because that would increase the chances of major problems on update and delay the fixing of the bugs.

Hey, I have an idea that kind of relates to that. Why don't they first do an update that fixes all the current bugs that they admit they know about but haven't gotten around to fixing yet and then start making new features again? That would be actually very cool. I want my textures to load without having to mouseover everything again. Oh, the good old days... 2 weeks ago...
