forum search timeout

If I do a search, sometimes the results can return many hits. So, it's annoying say, after about an hour or so, the search results list will give this error if I try to go to the next page:
This is annoying. Why is there even a timeout?

Can you please give a step-by-step repro of how to make this happen?

This may be something that gets ameliorated with a planned upgrade to vBulletin 3.5.

it takes like 3 min to upgrade forum software, upload run script click a button fill out a box or 2 and your done

so no its not for some plan of upgrading forum software, thats like me saying i plan on installing quicktime tommarow,and it will fix url load errors with winamp

look at your databases that cant seem to run worth a flip the last few weeks

Osgeld is correct. The software isn't flaking out, the database is.

When the search doesn't work for me it doesn't work at all whether I quick search or advance search by keyword, poster name, thread starter, single forum, in a date range or any combination thereof.

Sometimes it won't work for a few minutes, sometimes all day.

Do a search, wait about an hour (though I haven't timed it but it SEEMS like an hour but not certain), refresh the search results page.
