Yesterday a thread was posted about a product (Force Elements) in second life with a back door. The person that posted this thread about a back door has completly got the wrong end of the stick. The reason this product has a back door is so it can be disabled for improper use IE: Greifing. Many people i have spoken to like this particular feature, and support the feature in what it does. However i find it disgusting that people would attack a precaution that is there to protect them, due to this action by the thread poster it has put the creator of the item under great stress and anxiety, it has also had an effect on an entire community, groups and individuals. Please do not take what the thread poster wrote as the absolute truth, please contact someone who is directly involved in the making of this item (force elements) and you will be told about the abilities and limitations of the product including rights to remove the product if it is found to be used in an inappropriate matter. If you do not ask about abilities, limitations, and rights to revoke the product you are at fault not the creator.

It would be fine if you also paid them back their L$800 when you shut down the object.
That achieves the aim of preventing griefing, while avoiding any bad business objections. |

well thats down to the individual if they want their money back, but after a short period of time the ability to re-use force elements will be returned, how ever if it is reported that an inndividual has caused another offence using the force elements system the ability will be revoked and it will then be down to the admin to take further action concerning re embersment or not

If the group were to actually shut off the system it would be after seeing someone break Second Life rules with the item and yes they will be refunded their money. But we have never had to shut off anyones force powers and the power also allows the item to be turned back on. the poster of the thread failed to mention that. The shut off switch was designed to stop the abuse of the product, not to give the creator control.
