Objects Being Returned to Group Members?

I'm sorry, I really couldn't figure out where this question belongs. I'm setting up my first store in my home sim. Several designers will be selling items there, so I assigned one of my groups to the land. Anyone who will sell from my store is in the group.

Well last night, the first designer to sell things there put some stuff up, including her SL Exchange magic box. But this morning her things were back in her Lost + Found folder. I re-checked my land status. The group is set, and she's a member of it. I do have the land set to auto-return items after 60 minutes, so I imagine this is what happened- but I don't understand why it sent stuff back to a group member.

Can anyone explain, please? Do I have to deed the land to the group in order for their items to remain on the property? I like auto-return so that customers who open boxes in the store but forget to clean up won't leave too much of a mess.

It should have been enough for her to set her stuff to the appropriate land group, i.e: the group the land is set to. AFAIK, the land does not have to 'deeded'

Oh? You mean she would actually have to set some property on her items in order to leave them there?

In the case of boxes for sale, would she still be getting paid if she set her items to group?

Thanks!

How do you assign a group to the land without deeding it?

Make sure she has your group activated when she's placing items.

What are the differences between setting and deeding in terms of priveleges, land bonus, monies from the sale of the land,... ?

Setting the land gives none of that - no privledges, no ownership, nada. It just means that autoreturn will ignore any items set to that group, regardless of who owns them.

When you deed land to a group, when it is sold, all group members split the selling price equally, and when you deed a 'for sale' item, the money for that goes to the group as well. If you forget to wear your group tag when you set items out, you can 'edit' the item, and on the 'general' tab you can set the group. Yes, set your land to group too if you are going to have auto-return on.
