It is indeed good to recognize the burgeoning number of musical happenings in our community. :)

Good News!

It's always great to see more ways to make the events calendar work. But isn't Live Music the same as Arts and Culture? We're still keeping the Arts and Culture category, right? *hopes so.*

Yes we sure are, Live Music could be seen as a specific area of Arts and Culture that is growing a lot. :)

I'm wondering if this proposal is worth anything.

Just for the record...

A YARD SALE DOES NOT COUNT AS LIVE MUSIC! ;)

I'm planning a yard sale as soon as I can mark out the time. It's already all set up.

I hope the inclusion of this listing will make it easier for people to see at a glance, who is playing where and when. I know that some shows are missed or have low attendance, simply because the listings as they have been up until now, have been buried in all the other events. The Live music scene in SL is growing at a fast pace and it would be a shame if people miss out on hearing some truly talented musicians and bands.

Of course I have my own ulterior motive for welcoming this listing ...hehe..

I think it would make more sense to have a separate category for Commercial events.

That way people could happily post their yard sales, store sales and the like.

Oh wait - there already IS that category, silly me.
And now its against the law to post up yard sales legit or otherwise
my bad

anyhow enjoy your live music

So Torley, whatever happened to all those filtering mechanisms and tools we were supposed to have? It makes more sense to enable to user to configure the Events List to the types of things they want, then trying to arbitrarily dictate what is and isn't allowed.

We are all adults up in here.
Flip hates yard sales, I love yard sales.

Flip should be able to configure his list to not show yard sales. I should be able to configure my list to show them all.

So when is that going to come around?

Just for the record, I love yard sales, and have hosted them in the past (I called them trash for oldbies, gold for newbies).

What I hate is the spamming of the events list with non-events, and the Yard Sale has come to represent this; 24 hour yard sales posted every hour, on the hour, in the wrong category, and so forth. :) Its not JUST yard sales that are guilty, its also "Condo For Sale" and tons of other nonsense. :)

Regards,

-Flip
