I have never sold anything on sl yet and need to find out how to do some things. First, I have a 512 m2 first land lot which currently has a house on it.

1. Can I set up a shop to sell items on this lot?
2. Can I hold a yard sell on this lot?
3. Where can I find information on how to transfer items to those who buy my items.
4. Where can I find information on how to box several items in one bundle to sell.
5. How do I set it up so the lindens go into my account.

Is there a place on sl that can give me answers to all or some of the above questions.

I also have hundreds of items I would like to put in boxes and provide them free to those who want them. How do I put out this box so noobs or others can take what they want and still leave the items there for other to take?

And anyone help me.

You can answer to this post.
See me in-world to provide answers
Or send me an email at: georgeflan@gmail.com

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi George!

1. As long as your lot is not marked residential only (very unlikely if you pay tier to LL) you can set up a shop on the lot.

2. Well, you can hold a yard sale, but only if thats what it is, a yard sale. Its agaist the event rules to hold a yard sale when all the items are actually made by you and in your shop. You can hold other events, at your shop to promote it though :)

3. Ok, items transfer automatically if you set them to sale. Put the item down on your plot, right click it, choose edit, then click the "More" button at the bottom right of the edit window. Then it should already be on the "General" tab. Then check the "For Sale" box. Put the amount to sell it for in the box underneath. And choose whether to sell a Copy (A copy goes into the person who buys it inventory, but the origional stays there, so you can sell more), the Content of the object (this means they buy whats inside a prim, so if you want to sell lots of seperate things, to make up an outfit maybe, put them all inside a box (contents tab), take a picture of the outfit, and put it on the front of the box, and set it to sell the Contents), or set the origional to sell (which means the one you put down on your land will be sold to another player, and you won't have one on the land, it will belong to whoever bought it)

4. Right above, hehe.. This bit..
Sell Content of the object (this means they buy whats inside a prim, so if you want to sell lots of seperate things, to make up an outfit maybe, put them all inside a box (contents tab), take a picture of the outfit, and put it on the front of the box, and set it to sell the Contents), or set the origional to sell (which means the one you put down on your land will be sold to another player, and you won't have one on the land, it will belong to whoever bought it)

5. The Lindens go automatically to your account.

And just notes, you should only sell objects you've created yourself.

Good Luck! :D

1. Can I set up a shop to sell items on this lot?

Yes, as long you have full ownership to it, not residential & its YOUR land, you can do anything on it, selling items in a shop is definately permitted. I guess the hard part is actually getting avs into your plot to buy the items.

2. Can I hold a yard sell on this lot?

Same as above, yard sales are no different

3. Where can I find information on how to transfer items to those who buy my items.

Well, on a one-to-one basis, you can create items & drag them from your inventory into their "inventory drop" box, alternatively you can set up vendors you can check out more on these links in the forum on how to create one.
/54/36/13457/1.html
/15/a4/54012/1.html
/15/36/3038/1.html

Alternatively, there are alot of free source vendors you can get around SL, I think you can get a lag free one in Furnation's skymall

Or you can create a simple single prim vendor box.

4. Where can I find information on how to box several items in one bundle to sell.

To create a box vendor prim press "ctrl-4" then in the edit tab" click on "content" & drag whatever items you wish to bundle into the content space (the sapce below the "New script" button)

5. How do I set it up so the lindens go into my account.

On the box vendor prim, under "properties" check Mark item--> for sale then state a price for the item, anyone who touches the box would be prompted whether to pay XXL to purchase your product, accepting the dialog will debit the buyer's account & credit your L balance.

Hehe nps, good to have more than one answer anyway, since we almost certainly worded it differently, people have a better idea if you give two examples than just one :D

Thanks a bunch for the info....now more question then.....If I bought a bunch of items when I first got on, i.e., sofas, chairs, houses, etc....and no longer have a need for them, can I sell them as used items or do I just have to take the loss?

You can sell them as used! As long as you resell the origional and they are transferable :)

You can put them in a vendor. Vendors take up very little space. :)
