Suggestion for unverifieds and newb accounts

As I was reading Snow Crash last night (yes, I'm just now getting around to it) I came across a part of the book that gave me an idea... an interesting way of identifying unverified and new accounts. New players and unverified accounts' avatars are in black and white. Once they go premium or have logged in for X number of days/hours or what have you...they earn their colors  Discuss!!! *DISCLAIMER* I'm not serious.

Well, not just black and white. The way Snow Crash describes those avatars is that they are "...bkack-and-white people -- persons who are accessing the Metaverse through cheap public terminals, and who are rendered in jerky, grainy black and white."
