Arrgh!

I found another bug, it's got big teeth too!

I was just fixing a broken thing of mine and I bumped into another juicy bug. Because of it, I came pretty close to accidentally releasing models with full permissions set.

Here's the deal:

llRezObject() will now rez your own items with full permissions enabled. That is, items you've made yourself, not other peoples items. So be very careful with items that have passed though your holo-vendor or something similar. They'll come out the other end with all their permissions enabled!.

I can't see alot of people being caught by this bug, but if it does bite somebody, it'll probably do more than make their eyes water.

Be safe!... Say "no" to bugs!

I think the only way to say no to bugs is to just stop releasing new items til LL stops introducing new bugs weekly.

So we might all be on a long vacation here.

Jeez, permissions bugs, texture theft bugs.

Why don't they just download the contents of the resource server to everyones inventories and just be done with it?

I can't believe LL let ANYONE go home this weekend after this debacle.

Well, on that matter, we really don't know if they DID let the programmers go home.

I personally have a mental image of them chained to desks, Robin above them with a whip yelling "DO I HAVE TO GET 'PERSUASIVE' WITH YOU LOT AGAIN?" <whipcrack>

i have a bug too. It's a old bug, but it recently found it's way into the steroid cabinet cuz its bigger now... And uglier.

The Gesture Bug: When you log in or teleport, some of your gestures will deactivate. Today i decided to stuff ALL my 750 gestures into my avatar folder so that i can just drag everything back onto myself to fix this bug. I don't know why gestures are doing this. Even if i only had less them 50 gestures it would still do this. Attachments and Clothes don't do it so why gestures?

Strange. I'm using Hiro's holovendor setup, and I tested it this morning (by having Mistress buy from it), and the permissions came out to Her just the way they should. I'm verrry careful about permissions (because I know one slip means I've just given away a build forever).

I did run into a goofy bug with llGiveInventoryList refusing to hand over no copy items to other people, but apparently that's been around a while, and it's hardly news that parts of LSL are totally borked. That's just me being a novice, third-rate scripter. ;)

I created a page on my Wiki for posting found bugs. This way they are all in one place for residents to view.

That's been around for a while. It's less of a bug and more of a "by design" type deal. If you give an item to someone and it has a script that does llGiveInventoryList, the items that it give MUST have copy permission because now you're copying the items based upon the new-owner permissions and not the original owner's. That is why the owner can llGiveInventoryList() from items he owns all day long, as owners always have full permissions for their items.

Even still, it would be nice to have a way to perform that function with no copy items, since I sell with two kinds of permissions (mod/copy/no transfer and mod/transfer/no copy), and it's frustrating that half of my merchandise has to be needlessly more difficult to unpack (not that it's that difficult, but you get the idea) than the other half. It's not that big of a deal, but it's mildly annoying. I figured out a semi-decent workaround for it, though.

Oh, I agree.

Thankfully, the new Copy To Inventory/Copy To Inv & Wear options for opening allow us to folder-ize items. Set the default behavior to "Open when clicked" and you can get unscripted shopping bags. Still, folks need to be aware of those two buttons and what they do...

Seems we have some odd building bugs too, or maybe it was just me? I was moving objects, using snap-to-grid, and it jumps back to where it was. Some of the attribute settings go back to their original settings too.

That's been happening to me for months, especially when the item is "Edit Linked" as part of a linked build.

I just unlink, edit, and relink. Messy, frustrating, but it works.

I never really know if its a bug or if I'm screwing up, since usually its the latter anyway. I am just glad there are some people in the "game" that are happy to share this sort of knowledge.

Automatic gesture deactivation? That's not a bug, that's a hugely needed feature :p

Well I did some more tests, and I've found that it'll only happen if the rezzed object is Copy enabled and you're the creator of that object.

So enable Copy, then disable Transfer and Modfy. Place the object in a rezzer, when the object is rezzed, it'll come out with all permissions enabled.

One of the two options I offer is mod/copy/no transfer. Those have been coming out properly, too. (And yes, they're objects I made. ;) )

I will say this, however, and I don't know whether this is a new or an old thing: I've noticed that a lot of times, when you're moving objects around while setting up your vendors, SL seems to have a tendency to change the permissions from what you set. This led to me neurotically double- and triple-checking everything.

Please post LSL bugs to the KnownBugs page :)

Some of those have been there since beta.
